@@gilbertlam5588 What toothpicks? They're pieces of bare copper wire, hence why they're soldered to the copper wire attached to the battery terminals.

because you want the short to happen through both of the pieces that need to be welded. otherwise you're welding only the strip with itself.

have you seen the soldering iron lid under the aluminum? of course with the help of a lid the battery and the metal will connect it's others

Not a good idea

you might want to put a small 555 circuit in there to disconnect after a preset micro delay so you don't fry the battery or the cell. make it more user proof.

No that's putting out way more than 3amps for that split second... Lead acid battery have an insanely high discharge current, especially for short durations. The only way to really do it is with a capacitor or many capacitors.i tried it with 10000 F capacitor and even way more than that and it barely worked

With this guage wire connected to the battery, it is next to impossible to generate 1000 of ampere, at least the person could have use some 6-8sqmm stuff
