Hey this is our family Sportspal that has been used all over the place from Temagami to Florida! It was so sad to see it crushed by that tree! Thank you so very much for your effort and hard work restoring this canoe! Now our trusty sportspal is ready for more adventure not to mention the grand kids! Outstanding!

Even though the Sports Pal design is not my cup of tea, it is impressive how serviceable they are. With basic tools and time, perseverance, these things can survive things that will destroy other types of boats.

Great job ! I had to do a similar job a few years back and started out the same way,...got in it with my mountain boots on and kicked the s***t out of it to get it back in shape. Then used a series of rubber mallets to finish the job. Still using the canoe 40 years later !

Truly AMAZING restoration. Id never have thought it could be done without cutting out a large part of the original hull. i've got a 14' freighter stern I've lent to my daughter and grandsons. Now more impressed than ever at the construction technique. Sudbury Ontario Canada.

Great job! Loved both sportspals we’ve had. Still have my 14’ wide stern. Awesome pond boat! Hope to buy a 12 or 14’ for carrying in to spots. Almost 70 and my old town feels like it’s put on weight... lol. Can’t beat the sportspal for fishing!

I have a 1984 Sportspal canoe that leaks in the area of the front center rib just as the rib starts to transition upwards. I think the gasket material is dry and brittle and the dents on the rib don't help. This is the spot that gets struck first as one hits a rock in shallow water. To fix this leak should I first try to tighten the rivets or should I just go strait to the marine sealant. Or maybe add rivets in-between the current rivets? Thank you very much.

If it is only slightly leaking on one of the seams, I would cover the problem seam with marine sealant, just watch for leak at the keel as well it's in the same area. The sealant was a dry product back then , it is a forever flexible now. Hopefully you get it sealed up. Cheers 🍻

I’m considering buying a 14’ pointe sports pal for my solo fishing trips and family fishing trips. I was looking at fishing accessories that will fit and was wondering what diameter are the thwarts. I was looking at clamp on rod holders to go on them. TIA

That is magic !! you are a wizard. That sure was amazing to watch and yes I am sure the lady will be happy. Did you spray paint the foam sponsoon ? If you can paint them to bring back the colour and refresh what type of paint can you use with out damaging the foam Thanks ! I just bought one today and have been watching your vids for the last few days and they helped me decide to buy it that is for sure .. Happy Days ahead :-) :-)

I checked the website and didn’t see that marine caulk you spoke of. Should I call to see if they have it? Also, do you think marine shoe goo would work as well. Lastly, can a person leave the sponsons off if they have deteriorated ? I have my 16’ Raddison apart and ready to repaint so want to use the right stuff. Thanks!

The only place I am aware of is the factory Baywood marine products for the liner. If there is a sportspal or Radisson dealer nearby they can get you one as well if the direct shipping rate is crazy. I will be putting up a video of the liner instal shortly. Good luck
