Got to see number 3 live with my father who passed away the following week. What made it even more special is that he was my father’s favorite player, and that Xmas I got him a signed jersey. I’ll never forget sitting in my childhood living room with my dad, with him wearing that jersey a week before he passed, watching that play unfold live with him. It’s a memory I will never forget. I miss you every day dad

Agreed, while the Statue of Liberty play won the game...the hook and ladder to send it overtime is the prettiest, most perfectly executed version of that play I have EVER seen. And the beauty of it is that Oklahoma is fooled just enough...because had it not been executed perfectly, then Boise doesn't score. But the safety takes ONE STEP in the wrong direction and he can't get back in time.

#2 is WAY better in the context Boise State blew a 28-10 lead in the 3rd to have the game tied at 28 with 1:16 left in the 4th. A pick-6 by OSU give them their first lead and most likely the win. With Boise facing a 4th-and-18 at the 50 with 18 seconds left it looks over for them. Instead they run a trick play to tie it. OSU scores 7 in OT with Boise following up with another trick play. The decide to go for 2 for the win and use their 3rd trick play to do it. Above you see the result. It was a helluva game.

Should have been a technical against them or the other team. Would have been amazing if it was the other team and they give up the two and then the free throws and the ball back to Portland. They included the "Fumblerooski" (Nebraska, 1984 Orange Bowl). Nebraska had run the identical play five years previous to beat Oklahoma. They didn't show the "Bounce-arooski" from the 1983 regular season. QB Turner Gill threw a shallow lateral pass to Irving Fryar which bounced short. Fryar caught the ball on the first hop, behaved for a moment that the play was dead, then threw a long pass to a receiver far down field. I remember there wasn't a defender within thirty yards of the guy who caught the pass.

That receiver was a cousin of mine #89 Mitch Krenk, backup tight end behind Jamie Williams (who was amazing) but Mitch was great as well (Mitch ended up playing for the Bears even getting an 85 Super Bowl ring). Having him in as the backup was a great setup because guys people figured Williams was out and they keyed in on Fryar. Only catch was, Fryar said OU didn't fall for it so when he threw it he was under pressure so it was a bit of a duck!
