I'm 14 years old, manage to get into the Cavern Club in Hollywood to see "Iron Butterfly" and "Steppenwolf" live together, We smoked some of mother natures finest and I was only 20 feet away for this song live and many others like "In-A-Gadda-Da-Veda" 50 minute version. During the drum solo Doug Ingle smiled and said... "He Loves to show off like that, so we just let him do his thing for a while".... Never forget that experience

"Stereo" was a new concept back then. Listening with headphones was mind blowing for the times. This was heaven for me as a 10 year old.

Sometimes you just need to send your mind traveling through the universe, and this song is for those times. Still works, too.

MASSIVE KUDOS.... WE HAVE A NEW LEADER…. JMBOY has just became the leader in Total Reaction Videos from one reactor in my collection. Over three years and dozens of reactors, over 1,000 videos of hundreds of songs. I only collect the best music NOT PAUSED. At the rate he’s going he will have over 10% …100 videos soon. I’m happy to say 36 are ones I suggested. The real cool thing is even if KZread was gone, I still have all the videos to share with family and friends. Thanks JM

This was supposed to be a sound check. What the band didn’t know is the producer pushed the record button. When it was over he said… come in i want to hear something. Thus,.. one take. This was explained in an interview by bass player,.. Lee Dorman. Its so raw and classic. If you listen carefully after the drum solo,.. during the guitar solo,.. you care hear someone toggling switches on effects or something. A recording for the ages. Never gets old. Peace!!!!

It is apparently supposed to be a love song for Adam and Eve. The title is a close approximation to In the Garden of Eden. It's just good music. Psychedelic Rock

IMO THE most important rock and roll song ever. Up until this song most rock tunes were five minutes or less. Ron Bushy is the greatest rock drummer ever.

Every marching band in the following years had a drum cadence based on this drum solo. What a time to be a band geek!

Doug Ingle, singer was really buzzed when asked the name of his song. "In The Garden Of Eden" He slurred his words. Misunderstood it was written down as it IS and later they all laughed and agreed on the new name.... Too Funny.

You should check out the live version. The drum solo is amazing. I take every chance I can to say, " the 60's, best decade of music ever!"
