I think this is the best iteration of the Squidward Wrong Notes meme. In most versions, the song Squidward plays isn't so much bad as it's just, "not as good as the original". Thus, it's easy to see when the creator's bias slips into it. With this song, however, the version Squidward plays is absolutely, categorically bad. And as such, SpongeBob rightfully puts him in his place with the objective version.

This brilliant crossover meme thus proved Squidward is INDEED a mediocre clarinet player.

It's actually the dual shock edition. I have a Director's Cut with the guy holding the shotgun on the front cover. Look for that one and it has the original soundtrack.

​@@kgisabeastneither. The GameCube remake is it's own game and not an edition of the original game. If you are going to play the 1996 original RE the original edition or director's cut are both good.

And then the Hunter theme hit hard for both the Base soundtrack & the DualShock soundtrack. That's right, you heard me. Even the DualShock soundtrack hit hard when the Hunter theme played. The DualShock soundtrack sounds like the composer was hired to make a new soundtrack to warrant a new release of the Director's Cut with DualShock mechanics, & an unneeded duplication glitch fix, and finish the soundtrack before the deadline.....which results in literal ass sounds, like what we got..but then it has some good songs too. I guess the composer finished some tracks before he got to the ones that needed fixing and finishing. Well, he tried.

It's funny how the Dualshock version does have great music too, but people only know about the Mansion Basement theme... Which is one of the two songs I don't like 😂

Yes that is the original directors cut which is the non dualshock version. I think it was ridiculous that they released so many versions of that game in a shirt timespan same with re 2. A nine dualshock and dualshock version for that game too 😂

This is one of the best memes I have ever seen.

What I find humorous is that another KZreadr named Agent-RedJackal managed to take that infamous basement theme and merely swap the instruments around, which actually yielded a fittingly creepy song. So it appears that this meme mashup could just as easily work, with SpongeBob instead playing the altered version from ARJ’s video, “Resident Evil DC- Basement Music Fix/Rehash”.

It was a coding issue. It wasn't supposed to these horns. The man who "composed" this song was pretending to be deaf, so I assume he couldn't correct them without blowing his cover. he did end up getting caught years later @@ulzzangloverxD

Wow i can't believe everyone here are saying the DC version of the basement theme is better. Did one of yall accidentally have a different disc swapped or something? 😕 The thing is the music in DC that's NOT Basement are good. Everybody already knows the story of fake deaf composer and all that. Still don't get why he lied tho. Maybe for fame but now he's caught and as far as I know he hasn't done anything after that.

*in the America’s Big asterisk to add to what ure saying since the dual shock directors cut (the one with the bad soundtrack) only released in NTSC territory’s. So the digital release over here in pal territories is just of the regular DC with the original soundtrack. Along with that most Asian territory’s (so in this case japan since they made the game) also got given the original version for digital releases. So this issue only effects the America’s.

Apparently the PS5 rerelease of Director’s Cut is the one with the original OST, so we’re free from basement clown farts for now. …Why was that the version they put up on PS3 again?

I guess because there were already 2 versions of RE for the PS1 and the only other difference would have been Dual Shock support. So they felt they needed one other feature to justify releasing a third version of the same game on the same console. But the original soundtrack was already perfect, so it seems more like a downgrade to me.

I dont know what drugs they were taking when they thought this music was a good idea sounds like it was made by someone who literally didnt know how to play an instrument

The Director's Cut soundtrack is good, because the soundtrack never changed once from the original release of the vanilla version. The DualShock soundtrack is for the version of the Director's Cut with DualShock mechanics and a duplication glitch fix, that no one asked for. It is pretty confusing trying to understand the different version of the Director's Cut, but to put it simply, if the game case has the word, DUALSHOCK, it is the version with peepeepoopoo music.

In conclusion: do not buy the dual shock version, it is horrible what they did to the soundtrack

Can’t even make the excuse that it’s a bad translation cause it’s music 😂 Honestly probably one of the worst musical arrangements in any noteworthy video game

Honestly, I like the DC track, even if the overall soundtrack is a downgrade. It's like the voice acting: undeniably terrible, but charming in its own way.

Probably the biggest flaw in that OST but the rest are fuckin bangers and some even way better than the original.
