Spongebob Theme Song | Multilanguage [2022 UPDATE]
The long-awaited multilanguage update for the 2020 version of this multilanguage is finally here! Now updated with more accurate information on many dubs throughout the video, and corrections and newer dubs included that I’ve missed from my initial video posted last year. Special thanks to everyone who contributed down below in the comments with new and updated information, links, sources and more!
Most notably Jayster553 who’s been daily reviewing the errors and nuances of my last video on this theme song, and even sharing with me higher quality versions that I have not accounted for. Here’s the newly updated list of languages featured in this video:
English (Original) // Albanian (4 versions) // Arabic (2 versions) // Armenian // Azerbaijani (voice-over versions) // Bengali // Brazilian Portuguese // Bulgarian (3 versions) // Cantonese (2 versions) // Castilian Spanish (3 versions) // Croatian (2 versions) // Czech (2 versions) // Danish // Dutch // Estonian (voice-over versions) // European Portuguese (4 versions) // Finnish // French // Georgian (3 versions) // German // Greek (2 versions) // Hebrew (2 versions) // Hindi // Hungarian // Icelandic // Irish // Italian (5 versions) // Japanese (3 versions) // Korean (4 versions) // Kurdish // Latin Spanish // Latvian (voice-over versions) // Lithuanian (voice-over versions) // Macedonian (3 versions) // Malay // Mandarin (China/Taiwan ver.) // Māori // Mongolian (voice-over) // Norwegian // Persian (all versions) // Polish // Romanian (all versions) // Russian (all versions) // Serbian (all versions) // Slovak (2 versions) // Slovene (2 versions) // Swedish // Tamil // Telugu (2 versions) // Thai (2 versions) // Turkish (all versions) // Ukrainian (3 versions) // Vietnamese (2 versions) // Welsh // Zaza // BONUS VERSION!
NOTES:
This description so far is running on too much words, so any new info may not be added here for a bit.
==
- The Malay dub featured here only had the song dubbed for S13, as S1-S12 of the series had the song undubbed and left in English.
- Mandarin (China) as titled in the video, only used the dubbed song featured during the series' S6-S8 run. Prior to this during S1-S6, the theme song remained undubbed and left in English.
- The Persian version included at 59:14 is unofficial, though I mistakenly noted it as being real.
- The Persian uToon version is not actually a theme song dub, but is some random Persian music video that happened to be inaccurately given the title of an actual Spongebob Persian dub on many of the videos that this was found on, including in my 2019 and 2020 multilanguages of this song respectively. I'm not sure whether or not this song had any association or use on uToon as a channel, but as it stands this was never used as the theme song for this Persian dub of the series and was included here by mistake.
- Russian's versions had some of the timestamps mixed up during editing this video, which I only just realized after uploading this video when it was far too late to really re-edit and fix the errors with the top text in this section, but Игнат commented that 1:04:21 is not Russian (SDI Media) as it was labeled in the video, rather it is the Russian dub from Nick (seasons 1-5), and while the version at this timestamp (1:05:14) is also the Russian dub from Nick, this version is considered to be current one used in this dub (season 6-present.)
- The Turkish (Aton Productions) version was actually duplicated twice after the original dub played, so the repeat audio for that part was due to an editing error. The following repeated audio after the initial one played that was pitched higher is not a different version, rather the same dub repeated in a different pitch mistakenly placed here as an editing mishap.
- The Ukrainian dub titled Ukrainian (PlusPlus) in the video more accurately should be titled Ukrainian (1+1), given that this was the name of the actual studio that dubbed it, with PlusPlus simply being the channel that this dub was aired on.

Fun Fact: Latin Spanish, Japanese and Italian were Stephen Hillenburg's favorite dubs of the show
i love the Latin American Spanish version, brings back memories because that is my original language and I grew up with that version (but also the English version too)
Here's a little fact for you guys, One of the French singers of the theme (Painty the Pirate) is Michel Dodane. So it's being sung by Peter Griffin, let that sink in.
👍 - English 🇬🇧/🇺🇸, Russian 🇷🇺, Deutsch 🇩🇪, Mandarin Chinese 🇨🇳, Cantonese 🇭🇰, Taiwanese 🇹🇼.

The German version is without a doubt my favorite non-English version of the SpongeBob theme.
