well the main characters are loosely based on the seven deadly sins. Plankton - Envy (because he is jealous of mr.krabs and his success) Sandy - Pride (because she is pretty proud of her country and often brags about it) Gary - Gluttony (he is often seen eating large amounts of food instead of normal amounts.) Mr.Crabs - Greed (no explanation needed) Patrick - Sloth (no explanation needed as well i guess) Squidward - wrath ( since he is angry nearly episode) and last but not least Spongebob - Lust (maybe not that fitting but lust in that case is not necessarily something sexual but more like someone who is living a "over the top" life and not reallt having any moderation in order to have fun). And please don't take that serious in any way i just read it somewhere and it's quite fitting and just for fun. Just google it i don't remember it that good and when i read it there were more details so it was pretty convincing and whoever came up with it was pretty genius XD.
