The only man that every truly understood spongebob was him. Still nothing compared to the classics tho lol

I’d say any spongebob episode in seasons 1-3 are just super crisp and hella funny. Season 4 is decent too and then the first Spongebob Movie is just perfect like I can’t stop laughing...The newer episodes onward tend to be just okay or not as good as the classic ones. But other than that this was a good episode love the reactions my dudes 🔥🔥

i honestly think why original spongebob pre movie works so well is because its jokes are what the writers would want to see and laugh at so it was made by writers who were themselves sorta fans wanting to make it successful by putting in what they enjoy so in a way it was written for people of all ages and more so for teens than kids and then it became popular enough where they could write it just simply for kids and be on autopilot knowing fans are already brainwashed and the series will be seen without putting In effort...thats what it seems to me...

I think the newer episodes just have a different venue of humor. It's not exactly as dry/slapstick like the earlier seasons are but there is a creative fervor that applies to certain and/or newer audiences.

comedic animation is all about timing...if your a half second too late or too early it ruins the momentum of a set up joke or big showy gag...dialogue is easier to write cause half of it is exposition usually or just interactions and doesn't require as much effort to write as opposed to a well storyboarded scene or act...big reason why we laugh at the pain of characters we like in older eps and cringe at newer ones to characters we may hate cause like one is well made and written...the other isn't either

I just want to say it, I love the parrot squawk laugh it brings me joy to hear it when your dying of laughter. gets me every time XD
