I'd watch a 2 hour version of this
The outro music on 3 by 3 slowly going from a game show theme to the Inside No 9 theme is brilliant, I need it on Spotify now
I love what Reece and Steve do so much. So talented. I've been saying for ages that they should create a proper full blown feature length psychological horror film. After everything they have worked on from League to Psychoville to Inside No 9, I reckon they could make an incredible and terryfying horror flick. It has to happen!

They did a podcast episode for the first episode of the new series, the Christmas special, so maybe we will get a podcast for the rest of the series soon? Has it been said anywhere that the podcast won’t be returning do you know?

Shiela is honestly a lovely grandmother, she’s just so nice and caring that even when she praises the boys, she has to check that she’s being nice enough. Bless her heart
These two are modern day geniuses.. say what you want but they are. Always the first two names on my fictional dinner party invite list.
U would never guess that Reece is shy and somewhat introverted from his performances, especially Mr Jelly lol. Amazing actor, both of these guys. Legends. League Of Gentlemen, Psychoville and Inside No 9 are special to me.
Fantastic writers, series 8 is a stunningly good series. Highly talented genius!
So happy to see this - I've really missed their podcast!

Wall-to-wall brilliance! I am *obsessed* Also, their interviews are incredibly good value. I am in such awe of this talent and am loving bingeing ALL of inside no 9 again on the iPlayer. Just sublime 🥰🥰🥰

Series 8 was extremely strong. I'm sad series 9 will be the last but that's the number isn't it?
I’m an American who just discovered them and devoured everything they have created together within the past month! I would love any reccomendations for other things to watch out of the UK that have a similar feel. I watche League and Psychov. I will give a rec from US. ‘Tim and Eric’s Bedtime stories’ also a horror comedy anthology that I love. Thanks in advance I am already wishing I could watch them from the first time again
Steve and reece, they're both so talented it's incredible, just how good they really are 🙌🙌🙌 reece makes a very attractive woman lol
Series 8 has been great so far!,
Bring back the podcast
Hoping Hold on Tight comes by series 9, or an Easter egg on Series 8 DVD.

Love is a Stranger was so great until the ending. The twist was too obvious.
I thought the quiz show was probably the poorest.
The first season that didn't land.
No offence boys but I thought the part where Steves character is staring into the toilet full of juice, what was the point? He only put it into the toilet to trick his partner, but Reese's character never sees it and at this point wouldn't need to see it anyway. Surely they weren't babying the audience? Something they claim they're adamantly against...

I suppose you could argue that a man who's been living a facade for 9 years is so deep into it that it's second nature by now. He probably does that every time in the off chance Reece's character might come in.
@apes4days254
Жыл бұрын
@Jake Godfrey Like I said though, Reese's character has already seen it many times and doesn't need more reiteration, would be pointless. I don't buy the idea that Steve's character would do it just because he's in the routine either, he's in full control of the situation as evident by the ending of the episode.
@apes4days254
Жыл бұрын
@Jake Godfrey And the idea that he does it because it's second nature makes no sense since it is neither explained or is relevant in any way. The blood was for no one other than the audience, Reese never saw it and Steve had no incentive to do it.

Because the idea is that of the equal commitment of the two characters to this relationship, but for completely opposed reasons. Steve's character has sunk nine years of weekends of his life into fake affection, kisses, gifts... The works. The point by the end is that you're supposed to realise that he's consistently kept going every single little detail of the facade without fail for those nine years - just to get where he wants to get to & do what he wants to. Reece's character has submerged himself nine years into affection and caregiving and genuine feelings of love; despite all else and any other opportunities in life... Bar one instance, which he admits by the end. That's sort of the thing you're left with by the episode. Reece's character has loved Steve's for nine years, and the one thing he's hidden & lied about... He ultimately admits, as he's on the cusp of thinking that Steve's has been hiding things. (Ironically, he's right - but in the wrong way!) It's their last weekend, and Reece's character admits his one moment of fault because he's a genuinely caring guy who has been in love with Steve's since he got himself out of the phase where he was self-hating and lashing out at people on the internet. Whereas Steve's character has been entirely about lies for nine years, and only gives one night of truth at the end. (And that, in turn, leaves the moral question about whether or not Steve's character was justified to do as he did.)

@@jakegodfrey4320 also he just flushed it straight after, a pointless escapade on his end
No mention at all of Hold On Tight,and im afraid the "naturalistic" acting quickly disappeared from the mother & daughter who were pretty awful to be honest
Botox?
I have to say, with regret, that Inside No. 9 has suffered from a decline in quality for the last few years. Episodes 3, 5, and (maybe) 6 are the only 'good' ones from this series. Even then they don't stand up to some of the 'classic' No. 9s. I have all the time in the world for Reece & Steve, but this series is a world away from when it started and more often than not most episodes feel disappointing.
