Last few months have been rough after losing my father due to complications he got from surgery. Baldurs gate and all these songs have really helped me deal with the situation. While I play I get to enjoy beautiful music and my mind wont be going through all the hard stuff that has happened within last 2 months. Thank you so much Borislav Slavov for these beautiful songs!

Your music is one of those things that makes the game a masterpiece.

I finally brought myself to finish my first run of BG3 yesterday and even before I finished it, every time I'd listen to the OST it'd sound so nostalgic for me, even though I only started playing early last month. And now that I got to the end I can't help but cry when hearing it again. I haven't felt so immersed in a game in a really long time and it's been difficult to in most games these days. I obsessively binged BG3 for weeks though I had to take breaks because even though I was being very thorough and taking awhile, I didn't want the game to end. I'm really going to miss BG3's world, especially the characters we got to know in it, and I'm hoping we'll be seeing a lot more of them in the future. And that the game's massive success will make this more of a possibility. Thank you so much for the incredible work on the soundtrack. It's one that'll always be memorable for me and take me back to my memories of this experience. Every piece is amazing with so much depth and love put into it.

100% I did the same thing my first play through and delayed ending it as long as I could lol. This was before patch 5 epilogue so when that came out it was really cool to revisit that character and do the epilogue camp party. Perfect ending to a long campaign

Goosebumps. This game is what you always dreamed of in a Dungeons and Dragons game. This is 30 years of experience talking.

I had never imagined that a song could elicit such a high level of goosebumps. Ive been listening to the whole Baldurs Gate 3 soundtrack for days. But these goosebumps wont go away.

This song is definitely the one I will hear in my head when thinking of BG3 in the years to come. Its beats out Raphael's final act, I want to live, and the song of Balduran.

Ah, that song makes me remember so many great moments from my first playthrough, especially the romance with Shadowheart. Such nostalgia and sadness... thank you, Milil/Borislav Slavov, for great music!

It's almost 12 months now since the BG 3 release, aaaaaaaaaaand I am still in love with the music. Still love the game. It's gonna be a long wait for Larian's next venture but now knowing how fussy Swen is about artistic creation, it will be worth the wait. Raphael still hasn't clocked this on Spotify yet, although he is closing in at 8.35 mil vs 8.37

Gorgeous song, as the entire BG3 soundtrack is. The Shadowheart and Astarion pairing is a bit weird though not gonna lie

Astarion X Shadowheart is wacky at first, but it got me thinking about how interesting their relationship dynamic could be, given the significant transformations that their characters can go through over the course of their journey. (full game spoilers) That is to say, either really good or really bad. The embracing of freedom with Shart becoming a Selŭnite and Astarion learning to live as he is, or the corruption of becoming a Dark Justiciar and Ascendant Vampire respectively. Very good potential for an origin playthrough as either!

Literally just did the evil playthrough with Shadowheart Origin and my head canon is (spoilers) that they are sort of building up power (politically in Baldur's Gate and in numbers in secrecy). Astarion immortalizes Shadowheart as a vampire spawn. Also, their canon classes (Trickery Cleric for Shadowheart and Arcane Trickster Rogue for Astarion) synergize perfectly thematically and somewhat gameplay-wise (cast Pass without Trace or give Blessing of the Trickster to Astarion). With that said, their romance probably doesn't make the most sense canonically and I think Shadowheart will most likely be a converted Selunite while Astarion goes with the sacrifice and ascends.

@@tomfoolery8238 Eh, Shadowheart would already be immune to aging as a Chosen of Shar, don't really need to be a Vampire Spawn if she wants to live forever. If Shadowheart was mortally wounded, Shar would probably give her a transition to Undeath as one of the Shadowed. From Ed Greenwood Presents Elminster's Forgotten Realms: "The “Dark Reward” her senior clergy promise is the prospect of being raised as a undead-usu- ally a lesser undead-under the control of the Martyrs. Sometimes Shar prizes especially capa- ble and accomplished priests of the faith enough to bring them back to life augmented in some way. Usually such priests, called Shadowed, gain a short-term ability to become invisible or assume a gaseous form, but are marred by having a black talon for a hand, or a short black serpent’s tail in addition to their legs. All such individuals are greatly feared within the clergy. They universally return bearing jet-black eyes without whites or irises, and voices that are hoarse, cold whispers.

Kind of wish she was given some sort of powerful passive reward or special ability mentioned in your reply for becoming Mother Superior like how Astarion gets 1d10 Necrotic damage to weapon and unarmed attacks. Instead her passive is being frightened by wolves lmao

​@@tomfoolery8238 Becoming head of the church is the only way for her to actually use the mirror of loss and in her case she doesn't even need checks and can just claim her +2 bonus. Other bonuses she gets are the ability to summon cleric and mage NPCs during the final battle and continued access to Sharran merchants like Nocturne and Ferg Drogher for the rest of the game.

@@MistyKathrine Sorry, I meant passive skills such as Wyll having Rapier proficiency by default, Karlach having Infernal Fury from Soul Coins, or Origin Gale with an additional level 3 spell slot. All of the Sharrans have the passive Born into Darkness, so I thought it was weird she was excluded from having it. Shadowheart is sort of made up with having a choice of those legendary spears (both are actually considered amazing for honour mode from bg3builds reddit with Shar spear considered best piercing weapon in the game with Selunite spear close 2nd), although I still think Selunite Shadowheart is fairly lackluster in power like Good Astarion. Btw according to bg3wiki, Dark Justiciar Shadowheart only gains advantage to the religion check with the Mirror of Loss, not a free skill check. You still need to pass the 25 skill check to get a free +2 ABI.

I love this song and all songs in BD3. Thank you!

OMG, wow that was so good. The voice, the music and the visuals. Absolutely awesome.

This music somehow calling the deep emotions in you. Love it.

Such a hauntingly beautiful melody, and it's interesting how you hear the melody of it in almost everywhere you go, even at camp. It's also the first song you hear while making your character, so to me this is pretty much the official theme for Baldur's Gate 3 and a worthy one. Mariya has this gorgeous, ethereal tone to her voice. It truly sounds like an angel or even a goddess singing. And of course, the arrangement and music by Borislav are spectacular as well. Love how it's like a music video! Shadowheart x Astarion, why did I never think of that? They do make a good couple (well if it weren't for my Tav of course swooping in and stealing Astarion away lol). I don't know why, but for some reason it didn't occur to me that you could romance anybody when playing an Origin character? Seems kind of obvious now lol, seeing these breathtakingly beautiful and romantic cutscenes. Also is it just me or does this song sound like it could also be a dirge? In fact when I first heard it I wasn't able to make out the lyrics except for "down, down, down by the river", and the sort of melancholy sound made me think that this was supposed to be a sad song, like mourning someone. It also could be a lullaby in a way, especially the music box versions you hear if you play the music boxes scattered throughout the game. "Let your sleeping soul take flight/Take me through the night" sounds like it could also be a prayer for someone who has passed or part of funeral rites. Praying for the safe passage of your loved one's soul as they depart from this world, and for your own sorrow to abate during the wake. Interestingly, the word "wake" originally referred to an all-night prayer vigil. And "down, down, down by the river" makes me think of funerals where the body is placed on a small boat and sent out to sea or I think sometimes literally down a river. The last line though is the one that made me think that it could also be a dirge. At 2:04 the music kind of fades, and all that's left is this sort of dull, almost oppressive drone. It accompanies the lines two lines, "Don't wake me up just leave me there/Dreaming..." Again, there is that theme of being asleep and dreaming, never to wake ever again... Actually, if you listen closely that single chord/drone plays beneath the melody nearly the whole song, but you can only really hear it at the end, when the rest of the music stops.

Baldur's Gate III has some great vocal tracks but most of it's battle themes and background music are kind of forgettable whereas all of Final Fantasy's are bangers.

@@MistyKathrine hard disagree, weeb fantasy 16 has the most generic and boring orchestral OST, literally indistinguishable from any another weeb fantasy(not even comparable to Dark Souls 3 OST for example), while BG3 has some of the most unique music in gaming history

Fun fact: The original Baldur's Gate Trilogy was heavily inspired by the Final Fantasy series of games and that influence very clearly extended to BG3 in many ways. Hating on Final Fantasy is to hate on one of the major influences on the Baldur's Gate games.

Still went and listened to FF16 OST before commenting though. My point still stands. Your comment though, do you have any proof of that? What original "Trilogy" are you talking about? The music from this game has got to be some of the best ever. I've always heard that about the Skyrim or Witcher soundtrack, which is great don't get me wrong, but never once though the game did I feel I need to shut off the music to focus on the game like the others. Baldur's Gate really is a masterpiece in every which way. From the characters, to the gameplay, to the music, it absolutely deserved all the awards and so much more. Thank you Borislav! You've made a piece of art that I will listen to for the rest of my life. Thank you!

​@@TheRockhound119 that might have been from the Early Access. Water was like acid to Astarion in that, but in the proper game, he's fine with it and even mentions the tadpole has changed his vampire physiology
