Splicing Fiber-To-The-Home
Our last video showed a timelapse of a spliced drop.
This is the process that comes after the fiber is run to prepare for installation. In the first clip, you see Aaron preparing the NID and splicing to the home. Next, is a 945 test, which is an end to end test to ensure continuity between the splitter cabinet and the member's house. And the final clip is an OTDR (Optical time domain reflectometer) test, which shows if the fiber is ready to be installed.
This process can take up to an hour and a half barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Where’s the freaking splicing?
Splicing by magic?
Didn't show the most important part!
Thank you for sharing sir new supporters here
perfect job
Instead of splicing into a pre terminated LC fiber connection, Wouldn't it be more beneficial to actually use a field termination kit for the Drop side of the NID?

an easier and more cost effective way is to push the drop straight inside the premises having it protected up till it comes out of the wall and placing the 900m inside of a nice neat fiber jack than using that as your ftth enclosure going straight from the drop to the fiber jack to a patch cord than modem. Having fewer fiber ends eliminates many risks of service loss. Unless its an MDU than youll need a slack box for a multi drop wire.
Everything I took for this course about safety doesn’t apply here man 😂. Good job

Is this the odp? anyone?
Splicing by taping 2 glass fibers together? Nice video no splicing 👎
whats company? spectrum ?
Where is splicer with splicing man@
Crappy video, didn't show the splicing or anything. Hour and a half to splice a FTTH drop? Maybe you need some new techs. It doesn't take an hour and a half to make one splice. Half hour tops and thats including the time to speak with the subscriber.
I missed the splicing part loooool
Nonsense
You missed out the splicing that’s very important you should of mentioned it in the video very disappointed great video tho :)

Thanks. I thought I was missing something. I was thinking "Was that plastic covering all he needed to connect those cables?"

Sir ji Can you please please help me
There is no splicing in this video.. just noodling with the fiber cables. Wrapping these two fiber s tohether does not make a connection...
good demonstration
I mean I’m just spit balling but wouldn’t it be more beneficial to describe what’s going on instead of that lame techno?
Nonsense
