I use both. I use neither. I use one or the other. My favorite way to kill creative block is to just find a great musical loop in splice and change basics like the tempo n key, then build a song around that sample which inspired me, and when my work is full enough, mute the splice loop, and fill in the sonic space for whatever seems to be missing without that loop. So I end up with totally original work, but can get moving instantly.

I do that mentally. I may have a portion of an actual song replaying in my head and I’ll build a melody, rhythm, harmony, etc around it until I have something original. I’ll then actually make what’s in my head sans any sample. It really does help with creativity.

I liked how you called Acrade second to none, for being a multipurpose plugin, which also is kinda cheap but crazy useful. I totally agree!

Seriously. It's good to use both. That way, you will have a wealth of samples and inspiration to build off of whenever needed.
One thing you didn't mention is that unlike other "monthly" payment plans, the overall cost via the rental plan ends up being the same as if you bought the plugin in a single payment! Usually what happens in monthly plans is that they add "interest" (or some other way of increasing the overall cost). So Splice is really doing a great thing by not doing that.

So splice has no monthly payments? i want to be sure im looking for a vocal sample plugin. Thanks if you respond
@nathanmantle377
Жыл бұрын
@@flyvalentino9621 No they do have monthly payments, but if you just want to download a bunch of samples, you can do a month, get whichever samples you need, put them on your computer, and then they're yours and you don't need to keep a subscription.

Man I am new to your channel. Your style is soooooooo funky. I definitely need to hit u up for those guitar skills. What are your rates?
D'Angelico fan? ;). Great video! I've been using Splice (I always have over 1000 credits unused it seems) for maybe two years but want to try Arcade. They have a 30 day trial so this was well-timed. Splice is a semi-organized no-real-workflow BIG bucket of loops and hits (with poor search. I've noticed) - so, I generally have to stumble through it to find tasty loops. I think having more of the workflow built into the Plug-in (and some of the DAW features: re-keying, slice & dice, etc.) might well make more sense to me.

Yes, finally! I was looking forward to this. I demo’d Splice last month and it was just okay for me. It’s not something I’d pay for month to month because I already have great one shots from Ableton and my Machine Mikro. As for Arcade, I will demo it this month and see how it goes. What I need is really just “sprinkles on top” and not a crazy amount of one shots when I tried Splice (but I got a few loops too) and soon, Arcade. Great video, Patrick! 🙌

@iamishsantos

@@stonebrownmusic3627 Hey Dennis, I pick Arcade over Splice. If you need a lot of one shots daily, Splice is great but for my needs, mostly some loops and the option to get creative with it and so I stuck with Arcade. I might hop into Splice again every 4 or 6 months to get some fresh one shots. Splice's strong suit is their one shots than the loops on there, in my honest opinion. With my tracks, what I usually do is build a track from scratch and then pull up Arcade for some variety and additional ear candy.

Nice guitar-playing! I can tell you've listened to lots of RnB/neosoul kinda stuff.
How vast is the local library on both? Is there a similar thing just for voices? Thank you
thx
I was considering both and stumbled upon ur vid. Seems that Splice upped there entry monthly fee to $10. Would you still consider it 🤔 as you thought $10 was high for Arcade?
what do you use with your guitar to get this sound?
People : Using Splice or Arcade is cheating Also People: Superstar flipping a past hit to create another hit, genius.

I used to think it’s cheating, but it’s no different than using 32 presets on a DX7 in 1988.
your guitars always look so clean. Do you like wipe them down with a microfiber cloth constantly? lol
can you record your own vocals thru arcade?
the blue tiny guitar on minute 14 which is? looks great to travel
hay patrick can u send me that song or loop you did when you was playing the guitar for example 1 splice
The guitar was fire!
Does Arcade have SFX samples? Like gunshots and animal sounds for example. Its not the main thing we are looking for in Softwares like these, but as a Splice user I find it surprisingly useful to have access to tons of SFX.

Hi Patrick, I am very new to Output Arcade and I am trying to figure out how to export Output Arcade audio samples into Ableton Live 11? HELP
I'm at the crossroads.... which way to go? 🤷♂ thanks for the insight Patrick. Cost is always an issue, so I was leaning towards Splice... but then I noticed this on the Arcade website's FAQ: "Arcade is flexible. There are no pesky contracts and no commitments. You can easily cancel your account online. There are no cancellation fees - start or stop your account anytime." Start and stop at anytime with no cancellation fees!? I'm in! Not sure if Splice does this but I will start with Arcade for a couple of months... starting with the free trial.
