Spitfire Mk V - Engine Installation

Here, we are looking at the Spitfire Mk V’s Engine Installation, Control Layshafts and much more. We shall refer to the 1942 Air Ministry Manual for the Spitfire Mk V and show relevant re-worked colour AP diagrams.

    Another great video Brian! I realize this is about the MkV version but I was a bit surprised there was no mention of the various types of exhaust stubbs shown in the pictures of all the cowlings. Thanks for making this series, it's of great interest to many of us.

    All the different exhausts that a right squashed in one there never seen that one with very thin opnings on the BM 597 We're these all mk5s with the different engines if they had the different exhausts for more backpressure?

    Yes, the Merlin 45 had the option of three types of exhaust.
