    It was the Muslims who got the West out of Dark Ages. FATHER OF MATHS. The House of Wisdom in Bagdad in the early 9th Century was an outstanding Persian mathematician called Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi. The word “algorithm” is derived from the Latinization of his name, and the word “algebra” is derived from the Latinization of “al-jabr“, part of the title of his most famous book called Al-jabr wa'l muqabalah, in which he introduced the fundamental algebraic methods and techniques for solving equations. FATHER OF SURGERY: Al Zahrawi is considered the father of modern surgery. He introduced over 200 surgical tools, a staggering number by all standards. FATHER OF MEDICINE: Ibn Sina, commonly known in the West as Avicenna, was a Persian polymath who is regarded as one of the most significant physicians, astronomers, philosophers, and writers of the Islamic Golden Age, and the father of early modern medicine. FATHER OF SCIENCE: Ibn al-Haytham is regarded as the father of optics. He wrote a book called the Book of Optics (Kitab al-Manzir), and it was translated into Latin, which meant his work and ideas influenced scholars in Europe. FATHER OF AVIATION: The first human to take flight was known as Abbas Abu Al-Qassim Ibn Firnas who was born in Spain. They named a crater on the moon after him as Ibn Firnas. They also named a bridge in Cordoba, Spain and an named an airport after him in Baghdad. And the list goes on and on......

    do you think fire doesn't burn cotton?

  • @EK-hm7gb

    @EK-hm7gb

    Жыл бұрын

    @@user-we9jc5zf6d I actually do believe that fire does not burn the cotton. It just happens that every time when they are next to each other cotton starts burning. We can explain the order of occurrence in more detail in terms of ionization, energy, chemical reactions etc. However, we cannot still say that it is the subject of this event. A similar example is Pavlov's dog (a different perspective to the story). When the bell is rang, food is given, but from the dog's narrow perspective, the ring is the subject giving the food. However, the act of giving food is not done by the bell, and from the dog's perspective there's no way to disprove that until one day it sees that it does not happen. This is one of the several assumptions of science, consistency. You can read more about the philosophy of science which explains the assumptions in science itself. You're looking at the question from a scientific perspective which is built on several assumptions. If you look at it from a philosophical (called philosophy of science), you cannot actually say that it's the fire that is burning the cotton.

    I´m sorry for that rude correction. May Allah swt guide you to the straight path, grant you wisdom and closeness to Him in this life and the hereafter🤍 But no, we dont believe that we can attribute blessings to anyone besides God since God is the one that created the universe and all other creations. We belive that none besides God can grant you anything good or bad and we belive that everything, whether it is good or bad happen with His permission. In other words, God is the source of the blessings and so we shouldnt attribute it to something else created by God just like we were and instead focus on the source of the blessings, which is God.I hope that was a good explanation @@AsiaticKlassic 😭

    Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “If we assume that someone narrated the view of the salaf but what he narrated is far removed from what the view of the salaf actually is, then he has little knowledge of the view of the salaf, such as Abu’l-Ma’aali, Abu Haamid al-Ghazzaali, Ibn al-Khateeb and the like, who did not have enough knowledge of hadeeth to qualify them as ordinary scholars of hadeeth, let alone as prominent scholars in that field. For none of these people had any knowledge of al-Bukhaari and Muslim and their ahaadeeth, apart from what they heard, which is similar to the situation of the ordinary Muslim, who cannot distinguish between a hadeeth which is regarded as saheeh and mutawaatir according to the scholars of hadeeth, and a hadeeth which is fabricated and false. Their books bear witness to that, for they contain strange things and most of these scholars of ‘ilm al-kalaam and Sufis who have drifted away from the path of the salaf admit that, either at the time of death or before death. There are many such well-known stories. This Abu Haamid al-Ghazzaali, despite his brilliance, his devotion to Allaah, his knowledge of kalaam and philosophy, his asceticism and spiritual practices and his Sufism, ended up in a state of confusion and resorted to the path of those who claim to find out things through dreams and spiritual methods. In the "Islam and the West" speech, King Charles lll talked about the misunderstanding in the west about Islam. "If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world. It is a failure which stems, I think, from the straitjacket of history which we have inherited. The medieval Islamic world, from Central Asia to the shores of the Atlantic, was a world where scholars and men of learning flourished. But because we have tended to see Islam as the enemy of the West, as an alien culture, society and system of belief, we have tended to ignore or erase its great relevance to our own history." On how Christianity can learn from Islam, he says: "Islam can teach us today a way of understanding and living in the world which Christianity itself is the poorer for having lost. At the heart of Islam is its preservation of an integral view of the Universe." He added that Islam refuses to "separate man and nature, religion and science, mind and matter, and has preserved a metaphysical and unified view of ourselves and the world around us."

As for anger when someone winds you up, does anyone have any tips to suppress this feeling? Hijab did mention that it is good to be angry when one makes you angry purposely. Otherwise one is a donkey if they don't feel any anger. However, are there any tips to suppress the reactions when one is wound up?

    Jzkl. My bro I’m doing a restudy of these types of issues. Been around Madkhali Salafis many years but I still see them very limited in the issues of purification of the soul. Just because some soofis go to extremes it doesn’t mean the bulk of it is wrong. Just like there are errors of different levels in the Fiqh schools which the scholars of those schools point out before we find soofi scholars pointed out errors amongst the soofis. Shaikh Muadh Saeed Hawa has expounded on this in detail in his series. He got tested out in every detail for 30 hours in 10 days of discussions with a room of over 10 Salafi Shuyookh in the Yemen before being allowed to teach Purification of the Soul in Eemaan University and he was on his own. I admire you my bro and may Allah bless you

Furthermore, what is Sh Muadh's stance on some other contentious matters (istighatha, asmaa' sifaat etc)? Also, is Sh Muadh's understanding of Tawassuf any different to other claimants, such as Buti, Yaqoubi, Jifri etc?
