Spiritual Q&A with Nayaswami Kriyananda 6/26/12

After launching his new biography of Yogananda on June 24, 2012, Swami Kriyananda answered spiritual questions in the Crystal Ballroom of the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. It was in this same hotel that Yogananda left his body 60 years previously.
AnandaLA.org Based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, and his close, direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda.

A wise man full of empathy, understanding and knowledge. Why was he expelled for what reason? It just seems utterly incomprehensible, he is so full of compassion and love.

I liked that intro song. It reminds of the 1977 animated Hobbit film. The melody.

From 19:45 on, it is about "fundamentalist" christians, basically christians who don't want to accept the message of eastern philosophy, that life and religion is about finding enlightenment. That has a reason. Christ Himself founded the Catholic church, and the teachings of the Apostle's are opposed to the eastern philosophy of enlightenment. The bliss of yoga is not the same as the bliss experienced by the Saints in Heaven, nor or earth. The Saints of the catholic church did not become Saints by meditating on the self, but by following the teachings of Jesus Christ their Master, the teachings of the catholic church, receiving the sacraments, christian meditation and prayer.

How many westerners have truly understood/enlightened with the eastern mysticism/philosophy, that is the fundamental question.. and I guess hardly few to count them on fingers. On an anthropological scale westerners have to evolve a lot to comprehend the principles of Sanatana Dharma or the Advaita Vedanta and come to the same level as that of an easterner!.As madam blavastky said any Hindu is a born mystic..Peace and Love!

Bible is edited multiple times and Apostles found bliss too, st thomas gospel was taken out of bible, its the most esoteric gospel in the bible, early bible had reincarnation that was taken out by council of constantinople. To make it short, True message of jesus is to find enlightenment but catholic church misunderstood and misinterpreted him. Catholic church is devilish, they killed millions in the name of god. Read second coming of christ by paramhansa yogananda and you will find east and west is the same 🕉

@@rocky821 There have been many wars unfortunately, it's true. The Bible is one of the sources of faith, but not the most important one, the most important one is the teaching of the living Apostle's, and their succesors, the bishops. Gospels have been written by members of the Church already in existence, John, Matthew, Luke, and Mark. Mary was alive when the gospels were written. The christians believe, as did the jews, in the General Resurrection of the body. It means that at the end of the world, the soul will be united again with the body that one possessed when on earth, and with which one performed so many actions, good or bad. That is why it must be one body and not many. General resurrection means that the elements in nature of which the body was composed come together to form the same body again, at the Divine Command, and unite the soul with it. Because a human person is composed of both soul and body. In that resurrected state every human that has ever lived on earth, must thus face the General Judgement of Jesus Christ regarding it's life, dispositions and actions, as to receive either eternal reward or punishment. As for the inner spirituality, the soul is purified and raised in holiness, by means of baptism, and other sacraments, by meditation and prayer, especially by the sacrament of the Altar, the Eucharist. Not with the purpose of reaching enlightenment, and realising the self as absolute, because this is inspired by pride and comes from Lucifer, the prideful Angel. On the contrary, the christian must realise, that he is a creature, not God, and as a creature should be as perfect as is possible for him (or her). And many perfect saints there have been in christian history, who performed the most ashtonishing miracles. Humility is one of the most important virtues. When man makes a good use of the sacraments, especially the Divine sacrament of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, he is transformed into a saint by Christ Himself. The problem today, why there are so few saints among the christians, is due to the fact that valid sacrament of Eucharist is hard to find, because it has been corrupted by enemies of Christ, infiltrated in Rome. The new Eucharist in the new liturgy (Mass) since 1968 does not produce the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ anymore, there is no transsubstantiation. There still exist the true sacrament on earth made by real catholic priests, but they are very difficult to find. We live in dark times. In future christendom will be restored to it's fullness, under a new, powerful King, then many will be baptised, and becomes saints in a short time. Jesus said, the Kingdom of God is within you, yes, he came to teach the jews the importance of prayer and inner spiritual life, but not enlightenment in the sense of what vedanta teaches. I have seen different enlightened Indian masters, and they all disliked christianity and christian teaching.
