I worked the late shift at an irrigation company in the countryside right after graduating from an agricultural technology program from my local college. One night after clearing the bldg, checking all office doors windows and exits were secured I went to the boardroom to watch a bit of television while I had my lunch. Suddenly I heard noises coming from the rooms I had just checked and noticed what I thought was clipclopping noises coming from the metal roof above the building. I watched transfixed as it crossed the entire bldg going from one end to the other. I followed along as it made its way across the entire length of the bldg, rechecking the locked offices as I made my way. Suddenly the noise stopped. By now I was back in the boardroom facing a closed curtain. It sounded as though it had leapt off the roof and onto the ground. Curious, I pulled back the curtain of the boardroom. I looked out into the darkness, a halogen light illuminating the back door across from me but saw absolutely nothing. Knowing full well I was completely alone and the graveyard shift was still another couple hours away, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was just totally odd about the whole situation. Sitting back down I continued watching tv, eating my lunch as I sat there waiting for the next shift to relieve me. When they finally showed up I told them what had happened and they laughed and said "Iiyeh! You just got spooked by the devil" and took over the shift, locking up as I drove home. The next day at work, same reaction when I told my boss and coworkers. A friendly coworker of mine said those types of things always happened there and worse, not to be afraid, but just to pray. I was raised by my grandparents and heard alot of ghost stories growing up but ne er experienced anything myself until that night. I switched to the day shift and nothing like that ever happened again. Not to me, anyway.

Depends on the region and specific job. Peace officer is more of a northeast US word. I've never heard it outside that area. Could be a security guard or civil papers server also.

If you cut out the horror sounds and just let the people talk, it is more than enough. Ghosts aren’t horror.

In the 1st story your expert said it was a residual imprint. That was not the case. Perhaps she was referring to another story but the "nurse" spoke to the security guard directly which would make that an intelligent haunting. Why the experts opinion doesn't match up with the stories entity I cannot say.

A friend of mine dose security and he was working in our town looking after a old hospital at night me and another friend went down one night and played games with him he was traumatised ive never had so much fun😂😂
