LYRICS
Shadows bloom in the skyline
Surface tension keeps dust in my eyes
I can’t take back the skeletons that haunt me frame by frame
I can rapture the imprints sent to bore into my brain
And I know that I feel the end is imminent
How long have I felt this way?
Sign of the times
Shadows sway
To light up my life
Trace the answers
Tears have never made me change
From violent delights
Shadows sway
Light up my life
Trace the answers
Tears have never made me change
Shallow, this is what I created
Splayed out skeletons in the cracks in the pavement
And now can you feel the injection back behind those cloudy eyes?
In between every cataract, a projection of my life
How long have I felt this way?
Sign of the times
Shadows sway
To light up my life
Trace the answers
Tears have never made me change
From violent delights
Shadows sway
Light up my life
Trace the answers
Tears have never made me change
In slow motion
The end is imminent, it’s imminent
Without your devotion
I need that skyline
Without your horizon
The end is imminent
Fade
Sign of the times
Shadows sway
Light up my life
Trace the answers
Tears have never made me change
Sign of the times
Shadows sway
Light up my life
Trace the answers
Tears have never made me change
How long have I felt this way?
Trace the answers tears have never made me change

The 90s vibes meets 2022 djent/metalcore slap so hard, and the song is catchy as hell. No matter how many times Spiritbox switches up their sound, they still sound super distinct.
I used to be a musician, used to travel around and play, performed with some of the musicians I grew up listening to or that I was inspired by. Then life started getting difficult. Very difficult. I had a decent year for music in 2019 but in November of 2019 I played what would unknowingly be my last performance. I came home and put my guitars away and just stopped. For reasons I won't go into, life had just taken all the wind from my musical sails and replaced it with the strong opposing winds of depression. I've clearly been living under a rock because I've just stumbled upon this song and this band and I must say, for the first time in going on 3 years I feel inspired to be musical again.

@@tiamod nice bro!! I'm sure you're enjoying that. Ya know I'm a pretty big motionless in White fan myself but for whatever reason I haven't sat down to listen to their new album in its entirety I've only heard three or four songs. Last night I just recently listened to our prevail and their new album and it is fukcing awesome, you should check it out! Also if you haven't discovered the band called Chaoseum then do yourself a favor and do so immediately!! Absolutely love that band. You can definitely hear the heavy nu-metal influence in their sound. They have a full length album called "Second Life" and they also have an acoustic live recording session {and the acoustic versions of their songs are soooo good too). They've released 2 new tracks called Unreal and My Wonderland which are dope too
Saw these guys live. They put on a hell of a show.
This band is building such momentum; they're going to be massive and they couldn't be more worthy,. What incredible genre blend 🙌

If that were true then they should have 5 million views by this time. It's been a week. If this were actually mainstream its have several million views within days.
Love the new music I love the transitions the vid is dope as hell
This song Slays. Love Courtney's little dance. This song belongs on Liquid Metal

And not just because of the liquid metal in the video 🙂
This is so powerful. The way the vocals are during the chorus is so addicting, that in particular I need to find more of in music.
Maybe this will grow on me, BUT I can appreciate the fact that they are setting new boundaries. I'm sure spiritbox will reach new audiences with this.

A true test of longevity is what a sophomore sound is. If this is it, I'm sold. Metal is a dying underground art. It'll take many forms before it's too obscure to hear anywhere besides your earbuds. Embrace..

@ristrettorgs I feel for modern music artists. The music industry was tough back in the day but it was a walk in the park in comparison to the industry today. After music went digital and people stopped buying full albums on CD and tape, it became twice as hard for an artist/band to make themselves even "well off". Much less wealthy. These days, if you're not making some really bad radio friendly auto tuned rap or some super trendy commercial pop music then it's next to impossible to get rich making music anymore. I personally think artists should start up some kind of worker co-ops to replace capitalist record labels. It'd still be hard to get rich but at least then nobody would own your music or tell you what to do or make money off the work you do but yourself.

@@jswervy16 Yeah man, this is very average considering the talent this band possesses. But I guess you can't blame them for wanting to earn some good coin with a more radio friendly tune.
Y'all made me sprain my neck. I hope you're happy.
Siren luring me into the watery depths of my soul looking at things I've long forgotten.. it's time to remember our stories 🌬️🌊🌊🌊🌊🧞
I'm digging this song. Different from what came last, but still so recognizable as Spiritbox. Definitely got some 90s grunge Shirley Manson / Garbage vibes in the clean parts. Yall just keep churning out good stuff, we love it!

hard garbage vibes on this! i'm glad i'm not the only one who picked up on that.
I'll stay up until 2am for a new Spiritbox premiere!
There are few things that bring me more joy than seeing an artist truly feel the music they wrote. Spiritbox has been putting out high quality material for a while now, and this is just a whole other level. Courtney's performance in this video is earth-shattering and seeing her dance around to the groove put tears in my eyes. Like, without even acknowledging how pleasing to the eye she is, this is more emotional for me. The way she sings "Light up my life" just really resonates with me during a particularly hard time, and I thank this incredible band for combining so many complex yet easily digestible elements into one of the best songs I've heard in a while. The song by itself is incredible, and the video demonstrates why this medium should never slow down.
It's so beautiful yet so violent at the end. Love this every second of it.

What do you mean still, it came out in 2022 😂
This is one of the trippiest and grooviest music videos within the space-time continuum.
you definitley can hear all the influence on this one, but it's still just so unbelievably unique. The fact that you guys can branch out and blend genres while still sounding completely original is a talent that not many people on earth have. LOVE this new stuff so far *gives one-man standing ovation*
This is the first time in a long while I've been audibly excited seeing new music drop on my feed, I literally gasped in excitement. Love y'all shit so much. ❤️

This song is soooooo catchy. I haven't stopped listening to it since it came out.

Spiritbox music videos always hit on another level
This band is going to be huge.
This band is evolving fast and I love it. Been a fan of Courtney's voice since IWABO and her job in Spiritbox is outstanding. They deserve all the credit as a top band.
