Spirit Adrift is what heavy metal should be. Catchy songs, memorable hooks and choruses, harmonious compositions and the solos... Holy shit! A very uplifting band too. I was listening to this and Divided by Darkness the other day. I felt a bit better afterwards. It gives you hope in the darkest of times.

"This aint a bad way to feel old"......that's the perfect description for this album,

This new Spirit Adrift album is just awesome. These guys, Khemmis, and Pallbearer are the trinity of modern doom metal bands that incorporate traditional heavy metal elements very well. This album is very good and I think a step up from the Forge Your Future EP and Enlightened in Eternity which were both good.

Necrotic Nick- Agreed. I dug all the singles but the saved the best for the rest of the album in my opinion. They don't have as much doom in their sound anymore but what they've replaced it with is still fantastic. I honestly dig all their stuff. They really don't have a weak album in my opinion.

Spirit Adrift is a good band, and I enjoyed the album, but all the buzz is surprising. It’s clearly a 1980’s throwback, which is fine, but I hope people aren’t ignoring modern-sounding metal. Great review, guys, as always.

Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, this band captures an amazing era of music and puts such an awesome spin on it. It's a throwback done with a tone of love for their influences. I don't think people are ignoring "modern" bands in favor of this. You can enjoy both. I know I do.

All killer no filler this album is a straight heavy metal banger…spot on review I’m hearing some High on Fire on this massive slab of riffage too….this weekend is chock full of sick metal damnnn… scored my ticket to Frankie’s Unearth…Revocation can’t miss that one…been waiting for nightfall to have Horrendous melt my brain…it’s time

Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, I get a bit of High on Fire on here as well but much more clean sounding. The riffs still drive it the songs home on this one for sure. Yeah, I need to snag my ticket to that one as well. I'm actually stoked to see Unearth as well after that album they dropped this year. Stay tuned for tomorrow's review of Horrendous, man!

I'm 52 and this reminds me of listening to the classics that inspired these riffs back in the day growing up. Ill give this album a spin. I've listened to their earlier stuff

Been into Spirit Adrift for a few years. Been jammin this one all day. Great riffs. Nate has a very interesting KZread channel where he breaks down all their albums. Those influences are completely intentional

Necrotic Nick- I need to check out his KZread channel. It seems everyone's been talking about it. I've seen some interviews with him and he's a super interesting dude. I did get to briefly talk to him at a show once when they were on tour with Crowbar and Wolftooth too.

Necrotic Nick- Divided By Darkness was such an awesome jam and I've liked everything they've put out since but Divided has remained quite a bench mark. This one I think is possibly on the same level as Divided though. It's definitely worth checking out.

Excellent band, although I wish they had more ears on them overall.

Necrotic Nick- Yeah, it seems every week following is getting more loaded with releases too. This is going to be a gauntlet for sure lol.

Eight months into 2023 and already the first album of 2024 has been announced! Industrial metal icons MINISTRY (you guys reviewed their 2021 album Moral Hygiene) will be releasing their 16th studio album on March 1st of 2024 entitled Hopium for the Masses (pushed back from August 4th this year due to manufacturing issues). First single is out now entitled "Goddamn White Trash"!
