We were climbing the gates at no. 10...I was filming...suddenly the gates opened with us on it...we scrambled to safety as the police horses stampeded out the gate...there were sparks coming from their hooves...my dog got kicked in the jaw by a police horse (He was nipping its heels) I did have loads of film of it,,,there is a big box of video film in Ireland. .of the old days..if you want to contact the guy who is keeping them safe,,,trouble is...a lot of the film is on vhs.and I dont have the equipment to My wee film company was called Nitty Gritty Films Unlimited (no copyright)so anyone who wants to can Pirate these videos. Knock yourself out! Lest we forget...my daughter had her wrist and 3 ribs broken by a police truncheon that day.

I was playing some of this on my mobile 'tother day when me and my mate were having a bbq and I was trying to explain it so I said to him can you imagine 12 hours of this 3 nights a week? and because it seems so alien I had to tell him they don't really care much for music - what matters is the noise - the whole noise and nothing but the noise. I said to him that I really love the way they use the decks to spin tunes but they have the machines working away in the background and it's always different - and I told him about the old slogan - - there was one time - I think it was in rotterdam ( i remember seeing a building that morning with half a car sticking out of it - that is rotterdam innit?) after a really long night that jo and someone who wasnt mark from gevleweg took me for breakfast - that was really nice- hemendeks - I think our band played with them that night coz I remember hiding under a carpet of the next floor down and hearing our basslines - and there was one breakfast which involved a chillum - a complete white out and u lot taking a photo of me drinking your coffee the night before - that wasnt a nice breakfast and another thing i remember talking about the white out was when we had a litter of puppies on the boat and I remember that we saw 2 of them grow up - kin and gan they were called - anyway - when they were tiny I remember they fell off the side of the boat and robert tried to save them by sticking his arm down between the boat and the mooring and of course the boat was going back and forth on the swell and I said to him look - just let them fucking swim and we can get them at the other side - coz otherwise he would have lost his arm! fucking idiot!!!

@@oOMavalOo as an epilogue to the story, I did finally play with spiral tribe, it was at a party in a disused landfill site. I remember I got mad respect in the middle of my set then the guy who was up next obviously got jealous and hassled me by grabbing my shoulder just while I was in the middle of a tricky transition to beltrams mutations so I totally fudged that, told him I'd be off in a couple of records, and ended on xy chromosome by hypnotist, thereby conveniently leaving the house is mine by the hypnotist record on the turntable for him to deal with. Karma. Twenty minutes later the police turned up so I guess I headlined!
