It's the only godzilla film that fans omitted the word god from its name. It is the only godzilla character that appeared in a godzilla film that godzilla has to kill. So yeah it is the worst godzilla. it's a good design for a monster flick. And the nostalgia brings the merchandise back.

IDW did the 98 Godzilla justice. I love this monster. We need to see how this studio made this model.

Really wish SH Monster Arts would make a figure of Zilla. I religiously watched this movie repeatedly growing up, great memories of playing with my Zilla toys.

I have this on order and so excited for this. The film has a lot of nostalgia to me and I always loved this design. This is a dream coming true. Took long enough! 😂

I love that every generation has their own Godzilla. I love them all but we all have that one design that hit just right at that impressionable magical time in our youth.

Banger video, ordered first day it was up.

I grew up on the Showa films and loved the 98 movie, as well as the cartoon that came from it!

Man I wish I could have gotten one of these, I'd never get rid of it. One of my favorite Godzilla designs, more akin to a sub species of the original version from Japanese stories, but I love dinosaurs just as much! Would be very useful as a reference model for anyone trying to draw this big guy too; I definitely would have loved this figure in particular out of my possessions. But alas, all I can do now is share love for this underrated beast!

You didn't exactly miss out yet. They are still up for preorder. Just choose the vendor closest to your geographical location to save on shipping and pull the trigger! There obviously won't be another one of these in this size and detail offered again anytime soon!

I agree. People say this Godzilla isn’t Godzilla. But it’s just that. A different interpretation. I for one didn’t enjoy the Joker movie. I saw it as Joker in name only. But some people do like it so who am I to judge?

A little late to this video, but what a pleasure watching your work!!! You really keep the audience engaged with how you cover the topics. Top notch again. I loved this movie and you have peaked my attention on this piece. I usually don’t collect vinyl but this is so good, especially the glass eyes. The 3 big stores (Spec, BBTS and Kaiju live), are still good for PO but Kaiju live is 200.00 less than Spec? Are they always this much lower or are there different versions of this I’m missing?

Thank you once again for the kinda words. I've used all three of those sellers and all three are great. It really depends on where your located for the best shipping price. Spec Fiction on the West Coast, BBTS in the middle of the country, And Kaiju Live on the East Coast. I normally use Kaiju Live and Spec Fiction for international orders and BBTS for the smaller, general store items. There aren't (yet) any variations of this piece. They are all the same. Not sure why Spec is $200 more than Kaiju Live but I wouldn't hesitate reaching out to Kaiju Live and asking. I know Aj and he is a good guy and great communicator. Plus he has an inside track to Spiral and would know more than anyone else outside Spiral itself.

The baby Godzilla scenes were definitely derivative of the Raptor scenes in Jurassic Park. And Godzilla's overall dinosauroid appearance went down smoother for the executives because all the $ JP made.

When is the figure is coming out I like to save up the money for I'm a huge 1998 of the movie

I'll feel ya. I'm currently transforming a garage extension into a studio/display space. This will be the last bastion of my collection.

Such a Beautiful Sculpter. Of a Beautiful Kaiju. My favorite part is the Eyes, the look so alive. Zilla may have taken the God out of Godzilla, but he is by no means a Horrible Kaiju. I want Zilla to he in the Monsterverse.

I'd would have LOVED to see a sequel/crossover with Independance Day! Godzilla 98 would have fit right into Independance Day: Resurgence and could have gone head-to-head with that giant Kaiju sized Queen Alien no problem.

@@mohdimansaifullizan6193 A true Multiverse of Madness would be a movie that somehow mixes up the eras of Showa, Heisei, Millennium, +98, and the American Monsterverse. Mixing practical suit effects with state of the art CGI with actors from all films and eras coming together beyond time and space.

Jeez that's expensive and also Preorders sold out. I wish for a more budget consciiosu figure. I'll wait for the release of Baby Godzilla in this case, movie accurate that is.

Unknown. But no matter what a room full of lawyers call it, Spiral is producing the most screen accurate TriStar Godzilla ever released. They could call it Susan for all I care. 😅 I'll be calling it for what it is.

That's no longer possible. As of the preorder release of Queen Muto and Behemoth there has been no option to order direct from Spiral. Their site directs you to a list of vendor links through which you can order. The list appears to be incomplete since I noticed at least two other vendors offering preorders that I didn't list in the video. I've personally used ALL the vendors listed who are based in the United States so you can't go wrong with any of them. Look for the best shipping deal and which vendor is closest to your geographic location to maybe save some $. Spec Fiction is on the West Coast, BBTS is in the upper Midwest, Awesome collector and Kaiju Live are on the North East Coast.

@@BatChainPuller what do you mean? I was able to pre order directly from spiral studio on the release day and as far as I can tell it looks like checkout is still available. I was going to order through one of those vendors mentioned but it was marked up +$250 in some cases not including shipping

Sometimes in 2024. Spring or Summer I imagine (unless it's delayed) and costs just over $1000.

Little kids growing up in the late 90s this was their first exposure to Godzilla. Mine was in the late 70s after Toho quit making films for 10 years. I didn't see Godzilla vs The Thing (Mothra) 1964 until the late 80s early 90s. No Internet. Only bootleg VHS cable recordings. Everybody has their own unique way and not Godzilla.

Yes. They are a new company. (A little over 2 years) They have the same basic turn around time as Prime 1 and XM Studio. I haven't seen any updates on Zilla yet. But I'm sure it will be in 2024 barring any serious quality control issues / delays.

I am pre-ordering this next week Thursday for the second release as i missed the first release funny thing is it will be the most i spent on something like this as i try to stay under £200 but ive been trying to find a good zilla statue or figure and this is good and i am willing to pay for this. But i am also saving to go to spain at same time lol.

yea looks awesome to save space the tail could have been bent round but still fine and looks so awesome and detailed my friend likes it to but lol my mum aint sure already about how much i spend on them. My last statue witch was the w-dragon indominus rex i think was £130 area its the most i spent on a figure also my dad thinks there a waste of money lol dont stop me still. This will be the first and most likely only for a long time i spend this much on one hopefully space fiction collectables where i have decided to buy from will still have pre-orders next thursday when i can afford the deposit i cant wait. I know not everyone likes zilla but i do love how he looks shame they never did any good figures or statues for him until now i used to have that giant latex full body hand puppet when i was a kid but that went a long time ago. And hopefully i will have moved into the medium sized room by then so more space lol as my younger sister with her baby would have been able to move by then cross fingers. Most of my figures or statues are in there boxes due to being in the small room.

@@praymo1 the tail is actually curved quite a bit so it it won't take up as much room as you think. Also, at Wonderfest they displayed one and it was using a "knuckle stand" to help with balance. Hopefully that will be disguised as a pile of fish, debris, or a clutch of Godzilla eggs. We'll see! Good luck with your order! Spec Fiction is in the US. There was no place closer to you to order from?

@@praymo1 Spec Fiction is on the US west coast. You could order it from KaijuLive or Awesome Collector, they are both on the North East Coast. An entire continent closer. I don't know what shipping is, but it has to be lower the closer you are.

Yeah, it's a licensing thing. A technicality of law. Not a jab at Godzilla or meant to be disrespectful. They could call it Margret the Dainty Dinosaur for all I care because the love is in the design. Once it's on the shelf it's Godzilla 1998.

They may not have gotten the name trademark, but this is definitely the '98 film version. The FW Zilla only has the same vague shape as Tristar's, but its less detailed and reptilian because TOHO actually scanned a 98 Godzilla toy to build its CG model

This is cool. As much as 1998 sucks, the kaiju and design are cool. I’m just glad Toho renamed the kaiju “Zilla” and treated it as it’s own thing. So it has it’s place in the franchise. And I like how in GMK, they treated it as like the Americans mistaking it for “Godzilla” and it was a whole different creature. The main criticism behind 1998, it’s just the fact that it doesn’t do a different Godzilla properly. You can’t just have Godzilla do something different and yet not have his iconic traits. Godzilla has to have atomic breath, super durability to ALL military weapons or beyond that (trust me, his durability is insane), super regeneration, nuclear pulse, and other abilities that are iconic with him. Take all those away, you don’t have Godzilla. I mean, imagine if a new Superman has no heat vision, flight, super durability, strength or any powers that makes him iconic. Trust me, y’all can’t argue against this. 😂

He got his tail handed to him by two newborn Mothra Larva in 64. (Actually that was a pretty hard won fight.) A building spanked him and sent him to bed without his supper in 71. (He only survived because a couple artistic Hippies armed with corn on the Cobb took out the cockroach proprietors of the establishment.) But you're right. Godzilla has never before dared to be so fragile. Comes with the weight loss. Hollywood has unrealistic body standards.
