Spinosaurus vs Carcharodontosaurus | The balance of power | Planet Dinosaur | BBC

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Check out BBC Earth on BBC online - www.bbc.com/earth/world
Spinosaurus comes across Carcharodontosaurus feeding on a carcass. A dangerous fight is inevitable. Spinosaurus has size and strength on his side, but Carcharodontosaurus has the more lethal bite.
Planet Dinosaur tells the stories of the biggest, deadliest and weirdest creatures ever to walk the Earth, using the latest fossil evidence and immersive computer graphics. Narrated by John Hurt.

@@PaleoTheExaminer i am tired of saying this but in a nutshell. The few caudal vertebraes found are too fragmented to say that it's tail had a fin. All theropods dinosaurus couldn't rotate their wrists meaning that he couldn't walk on four legs. He couldn't stand at 16-18 meters long with just those little legs, and infact about irritator, who unlike suchomimus, is closely related to spinosaurus, we have well preserved hip-bones and femurs to say that he walked on two legs and that his limbs were not shorter. In a nutshell this reconstruction is correct.

BOY, the gracile and vulnerable spinosaurus did not have a stronger bite force. According to Sakamoto (2022), Carcharodontosaurus had a bite force of about 25.449 newtons (to make it simple for you, that’s about 2-tons). On the other, Sakamoto has estimated spinosaurus would had a questionable bite force of about 11.936 newtons (that’s 1-ton) at best. Carchardontosaurus had both a deadlier and stronger bite. It could more than likely decapitate spinosaurus.

No it actually isn’t. Nizar Ibrahim’s discoveries are mostly fake. The short legs are the ones of a juvenile, that absolutely nothing can bound to an adult specimen, and that salamander like tail is just a prehistoric crocodile tail, since many giant crocodiles lived in Egypt back then, like Sarcosuchus, and absolutely no bones or nearby fossile allows us to bound it to a Spinosaurus

People get so obsessed with having their favorites win, they really forget one crucial fact: Apex predators like Spinosaurus, Giganotosaur, and Tyrannosaurus would not fight each other if they could help it. Mainly because the battle would likely end with both losing due to wounds inflicted by the other. T-rex would likely not challenge a Spinosaur due to it's size and the Spino would be hesitant to engage a large predator like the rex. At most they'd go into threat displays. Another thing to remember is none of these creatures have human-level intelligence, so they aren't analyzing everything about their opponent. Spinosaur would be avoided if only because it was freaking huge compared to T-Rex and Gigo. So please think before you post "T-rex wud win becuase it has super strong byte!" or "Spino would win becuze of it's claws!"

mm interesting opinion but they're more reptile than mammal like. The problem is that an actual reptile doesn't think two times before fight, so I think this encounters may have been more frequent than exprected, also dinosaurs were not so inteligent and if you're not intelligent you evaluate less accurate your opponent's force, they are more prone to aattack even if smaller
