Spinning an art yarn and the story of my drum carder
Hello everyone and welcome to my channel!
Today I am blending some wool on my Ashford Wild Drum Carder, followed by spinning it on my Country Spinner and then plying it with some embroidery thread. Using my drum carder made me think about the time I bought it, (we were living in Devon), and how I was burnt out from my life here on the farm.

What a wonderful story; I have an Ashford wild carder but I have problems using it, only because my dog is terrified of the occasional squeaking, I noticed yours was squeaking a bit which made me feel better because I thought I'd assembled mine incorrectly. Thank you for sharing your story xx

Thanks for watching! My carder is over 10 years old, and it never occurred to me that maybe it needs oiling? Which is strange because I oil my wheels regularly. (Actually I think it might be the silicon band that squeaks)!
