Great review, appreciate your honesty!

Very honest opinion. I wish they put a better crown and bezel on the Dumas which I really like, but crown is hard to grip and you need a vice grip to rotate the bezel, its not only hard to grip, but hard to rotate. Love the look of this Hull diver. Bummer to see a bad bezel on the Hull.

For Spinnaker this is a super clean dial. Nice to see.

I got a Spinnaker Tesei bronze that was massively underpriced on Amazon (it soon returned to normal price). It went wrong and they put in a new Sellita movement. It went wrong again and they fixed it again. I think it was something to do with the crown. Never got to the bottom of it but it is working fine now. Can't really fault their customer service from my perspective.

The Arctic Blue (and I think one or two other colors) can be had direct from Spinnaker as of April 23, 2023 for about $207 with a code. I opted to roll the dice on one at that price, it seems like an aesthetic upgrade over the Seiko 5 (some versions of the Seiko 5 series are cheaper of course) with purportedly better water resistance and sapphire crystal rather than mineral glass (I don't mind the latter it's just the sapphire tends to look nicer in addition to being harder). This video was helpful. Just as I have one Invicta watch that is probably the only Invicta watch I like (a Pro Diver), this will probably be my only Spinnaker watch and the only one I like, haha.

Good accurate review of this company. I'm having conversations with thier so called customer care regarding my leather strap the top layer has become unbonded from the base layer. Only worn it occasionally. Basically they are not interested.

Strap is really nice, but thick and a devil time wise to fully break in. Ordered a Vario serpent pattern for it ,we will see. Not changing out the strap because it is bad.

Have a hull, but it's the meca-quartz model. No apparent Q.C issues. $ point on this one though is^ ^ high, for this money Glycine combat sub any day.

I love your reviews you don't sugar coat it 👍I like this watch as to say I like the look of it but I think that the leather strap is more interesting than the overall looks of the watch and I love watches am I losing it?

Bezel is ceramic according to spinnaker if you just ask

Just looks like every other dive watch!

I own a couple Spinnaker watches. Their quality control appears to be hit and miss. I have 3 watches from them I like a lot. The 4th one didn’t keep time. In an 8 hour period it lost 35 minutes. I sent it back to Spinnaker. They “calibrated” the movement (a Seiko not theirs). It still lost 20 minutes in an 8 hour range. At that point I asked for and received a refund. I do like their case and dial designs. But my experience and research tells me every 5th watch or so is defective in some way. It’s a shame because the Fleuss, Boettger, and Hull Divers are attractive watches and if you get a good one they are great value for the money. But be forewarned, Citizen they are not. You may end up returning a watch twice like I did and still not get it lined out properly. I’ve dealt with Citizen and Seiko dozens of times. They all were spot on right out of the box.

Would be great if you had a list of watches you like under $400 USD. Hard to pinpoint which watches you really like.

I’m not sure how that’s possible. I’m pretty blunt with the reviews. Watch any review where the watch is $400 or less. Or any review for that matter. I state if I like it, what the pros or cons are, if I don’t find any negatives etc. off top of my head of recent reviews, I really liked the Rotary Super 7, despite a few faults, I liked the Pancor P03 a lot, and I really like the Alkin Model II.

Nice review. This watch is OK. Would not buy it. Not a fan of this design. At full price, too expensive. For $375, you are starting to enter 9015 territory. About the size, 42mm is my ideal. I know there is an actual ncreasong market for 38mm-40mm divers, and can definitely understand that. However, they would not make 42mm-45mm if there was no market, and I would always go for a 44mm over a 40mm. This is just my opinion, I think there is room for multiple sizes.

Another brick to put on wrist. 42mm that's ridiculous size.....

@@watchreport Well, that´s not true. If you want something in a normal size like 38mm it´s hard to find with the same price rage as 40/43mm. If you go down to 36mm than things get even much more expensive. You have to look in to the luxury brands most of the time.

Oh there are a lot of seiko in the 37/38mm size range but they are very simple.

You have to start looking around more at microbrands. Lots of 36mm and 38mm watches being put out. Mitch Mason Watches, Mae Hudson, Helson Shark Diver 38, Upcoming Borealis Porto Novo Diver (38mm), Christopher Ward has 36mm and 38mm, Traska Watches, Nodus Watches, Islander 38mm Dive Watch (Long Island Watch Company), Lorier Watches. Those are just the ones off the top of my head.
