Spin-On Oil Filter Series: Filter Pressure Relief Valve

For many years oil pumps provided far more pressure than was needed in the engine. It was RPM related so pumps even had a relief for high RPMs. Today pumps are smaller for less parasitic load (steal power) but volume and pressure are reduced. Many vehicles have the pressure relief built into the pump and some don't. But even some that have an internal pressure relief in the pump, there may still be too much pressure, therefore there is a pressure relief valve aka bypass valve in the filter as well. Besides the pressure from the oil pump, the pressure relief valve bypasses very cold or thick oil from the filter into the engine to ensure good oil flow. This also helps with synthetic oil in cases where the filter is clogged. To maintain good flow in this situation, the oil is again bypassed from the filter to maintain oil flow.

I hope for a response! so what way do I turn it for more or less pressure?
