Spin casting process with 3D-resin prototypes | Processo di spin casting con prototipi in resina 3D

In this video we show the various steps in the creation of the mould and the surface finishing of the objects.
SPIN-CASTING PROCESS: from the development of the prototypes to the creation of the objects
Creation of the prototypes in 3D (light-curing DLP-SLA resin)
Creation of the mould with silicone rubber
Spin casting with zamak
VIBROFINISHING PROCESS: from rough to finished and polished objects
Three vibrofinishing cycles: deburring, smoothing and polishing with abrasive and non-abrasive granules and compounds
A drying cycle with heated vegetal granules
The processes applied afterwards are the following: plating, galvanizing, electroforming, burnishing, cataphoresis, etc.
______
PROCESSO DI VIBROFINITURA: Da oggetti grezzi a finiti e lucidati
Tre cicli di vibrofinitura: sbavatura, levigatura e lucidatura con granuli e composti abrasivi e non
Un ciclo di asciugatura con granulato vegetale riscaldato
I processi applicabili successivamente sono i seguenti:
placcatura, galvanizzazione, elettroformatura, brunitura, cataforesi, ecc.

Most impressive, grazie for the insight! Does zamak allow details under 0.5 millimetres in a spin casting and do you require higher RPM for that?

Hi! It's not possible to make objects less than 1 mm thick. You can create details such as the details of a miniature's face, but they must be very small areas.

@@isekaiexpress9450 The writing, in addition to the thickness of the object, creates stability as the space available for the metal to slide is increased. The grid depends on its size and shape. There is always a need to vent air from the center of the grill.

@@nicemspa3109 thank you for the reply! During my internship at a major railway model manufacturer in Germany, i was told that the high pressure of 300 KN in die casting is necessary of the need to overcome the viscosity of molten zamak to fill in the EDM-etched stainless steel moulds and to prevent microcavities that may promote zinc rot. I thought it was a bit overboard and such quality could also be achieved with your spin casting machines.

Which silicone rubber is this? We use a RTV silicone rubber but never seen this silicone before. Is it a heat set?

  • @nicemspa3109

    @nicemspa3109

Our silicone rubbers don’t work with room temperature hardening like the RTV silicones. Our silicone rubbers need to be vulcanized in a press, with heat and pressure. This silicone rubbers are much more mechanical and heat-resistant. We sell as well RTV silicones, but are different from the one shown in this video
