Im getting married to my fiance on October 14th, 2023. Right now, I've been in teh process of getting as close to God as possible if not more than possible and God is also helping me in the process with viewing my wedding as a beautiful gift/partnership from God and to not idolize it. I LOVE keeping God at the forefront of everything :)

I truly think that your wedding did exactly what you set out for it to do - to glorify God. I pray that your marriage continues to do that and you can continue to us your gifts to bring people closer to God!

This is timely. I am dating currently with a man of God and there are a lot of things I have learned. 1.) My significant other is an imperfect person and does not complete me. Yes I do look up to him and care about him, but I can’t put all my hope in him, but in Christ because people (including myself) will fail each other. 2.) Hope in all things but guard your heart. I used to get carried away with the idea of “the perfect date” or “the perfect person” and although dating is exciting, sometimes you have to meet in the middle with certain things depending what they are. You will have expectations of your partner. Your partner will have expectations of you. But remember to talk about your likes and dislikes and your boundaries, get to know each other. Take your time. 3.) Enjoy the process Sometimes the process isn’t easy, but it’s worth it! You will learn so much. And that goes for every season.

So encouraged! The Lord’s been teaching me about letting go and hanging on tight to Him, and putting my hope in Him and only Him! While I am still waiting for the fulfillment of my desire to be in a Kingdom-focused marriage, this video made me so excited in looking forward to that day. It is and it will always be about Him! Just remember you have come from two totally different backgrounds and it will take prayer, time and even tears to mold your lives into one. Laughter is so important in a home. Another area the enemy will attack is finding fault with your in-laws….be on guard, you must find the beauty of each other’s family. so beautiful, You are so right. My husband and I didn’t know AT ALL what we were getting into when we got married in 2010. We have gone through alot of growth and it hasn’t been easy. Keeping God at the center was not my focus at first. I was a christian but I wasn’t living out my faith.

I loved the quote from First Lady Michelle(we love her!!)!!! You have to ask the hard questions to yourself and your future spouse. Marriage is way more than a piece of paper. And it doesn’t begin on the wedding day either! God bless you two!! You give me hope that I might want to get married again!

Thank you for being so honest about this !! I‘m going to get married in 2 months and for us it‘s so hard to decide like what is really important this day, I mean it‘s THE WEDDING but at the same time it is „only“ the wedding. We want a Christ centered wedding and we pray for that! I was at a Christ centered wedding (where I met my fiance) and it was so AWESOME. It was so mindblowing to see how good God is. Question: Do you had a wedding playlist and which songs did you play?😍

My wedding was rushed. My husband and I had been together 35 1/2 years, and had not gotten legally married. We never had children and long story short, we planned our wedding for New Years Eve 2020 and my mom died, I couldn’t go thru with it. Then we planned our wedding for July 2021, then my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Small Cell Lung Cancer in April of 2021, so we ended up getting Married at the end of May 2021. My husband and I could have only 5 guests, plus the the pastor, and just us. My husband was no longer able to stand, and his cancer had spread to his brain and he didn’t want to wait because we were afraid his mind would be gone. I did not have my dream wedding, but I married my dream husband. In the end my husband died August 10th 2021, 4 days before his Birthday. I just told this wedding story to show that things go wrong, but you can still have a lovely wedding no matter what. Also my husband accepted Jesus for a second time. He was so excited to get well and go to church with me. Unfortunately he never had the opportunity to go to church. His diagnoses from his Oncologist said he had a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years to live. He survived four months, and I am so Thankful he accepted Jesus and that my Pastor had visited him to talk and pray. That was the second most happiest day of my life.

Even though I don’t agree with the Obama’s, one thing Michelle does get right is that there is going to be conflict. I think even if there are people that we don’t always agree with, we can learn to listen to them too. The Lord can honestly use anything to get our attention and that it is honestly good advice to realize that there may be conflict, but you have made a covenant commitment when you decide to marry someone, Thank you for sharing. I also process things slower and can tend to be performance based.

It's crazy but when I was a pre-teen i knew I would not ever be married. It was a feeling and today I'm 59 and never married. I'm very shy, quite an introvert, but it's òk. Sometimes I'm sad but then if God had the perfect man for me he would have made a way for us to meet.

Marriage is about husband and wife and and God. Wedding Day is for others. You can idolize your husband and make them a idol. Marriage is the real deal living with each other day in and day out Wedding is a reflection of the Bride groom ( Jesus coming for his Bride tbe church) Marriage is for God's glory

A really open and honest discussion, thank you 😊, but I was a little concerned about the end part with the ‘pretend’ choke to Ashleigh’s neck 🫢 This is coming from someone (i.e., me) who was severely bullied by my brother growing up and in a past I was in a relationship with a controlling man. Actions (especially non-verbal) behaviours speak volumes. It’s about power and control. My prayer is that this is the only time ever that this is done to Ashleigh.

Marriage is more than a wedding ri g or wedding dress. You not perfect or your spouses. Marriage is temporary is not forever. God is the center. Keep God the center. We get married to fulful purpose |assignment.

As a Christian for many years I get your point. That being said, God loves us and wanta us to have a blast with our wedding and all that entails. Of course He should be the center in all we do. I was very surprised that you quoted what Michelle O said regarding marriage, she celebrates gay weddings, believes in abortion rights, she's a feminist and I'm pretty sure she isn't putting God first in her marriage or life based on the above. There are so many things I could say about the Obama's, how they live, the greed and money are just a few.
