Fun fact: The Spider-Man 2099 suit in the first issue was black and red, though most artists thought the suit was blue due to the original comics having colored blue highlighting where the light shines on the black suit. Since then, they’ve decided to keep the design choice.

I still enjoy that he used the 2099 suit to reference how infamous the falling segments in shattered dimensions and edge of time was.

I really like how even with technical limitations, they managed to create a really good sense of scale with the cities in the older games.

For real, it was one of my favorite spider-man games next to shattered dimensions. The other spider-man games after those ones besides the shattered dimensions sequel just update the graphics, game mechanics and suits for cosmetics. Where as they were more ambitious with how you play the game and thier plot.

Web of Shadows is THE most realistic by far. Not strong enough to crack the ground, but resilient enough to take a believable amount of damage. This shows that hes strong af without making him immune to fall damage.

I don't really agree on the "most realistic" simply because he receives this little damage from falling down from "Empire state building" then he should receive no damage from any enemies at all, because I don't think that any enemies hit would be as strong as the fall from one of the tallest buildings on planet, I'm sorry but that's just physics, and I'm not even good at physics to say with confidence, that the fall would be a lot more fatal than any enemie in the game

@@TheGodofZadrots Any normal thug would break their hands if they try to punch a still standing Spider-Man. This is why he holds back and push himself away to avoid severely injuring any attacking thug. They nerf him in the games for the sake of balance

You should have done the Spiderman 3 PS2 version as well. If you're wearing the black suit, spiderman will shatter the asphalt and do an Iron Man landing if you jump from high points

I think the amazing spiderman 1 really did it the best. The really up close POV with Spidey just a little off center of the camera really gave you a feeling of incredible velocity and immersion. Wish they would incorporate this into future titles.

It's fitting having the spidey 2099 suit on since Nevua York is mostly giant skyscrapers and flying cars.

I gotta say... I've always loved how falling looks in the original ASM game. they really nailed the intensity of falling at a high speed

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this or not but for Spiderman 2000 the highest point is technically in the elevator shaft level after all the symbiote goo is destroyed. Not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Climb back up the the top after the goo is destroyed and you fall for a pretty good while.

I think without fall damage a huge sense of precariousness is lost. I would say make the drop as short as possible of even 15-20 stories to get fall damage, so swinging is meaningful. He is 'Amazing' after all, I think of him at times as the man on the flying trapeze, doing things under his own power and momentum but dammit if he falls.

Just a note, I'm pretty sure someone used this measuring system's you get in a level of Spider-man PS4 to determine that Avengers tower isn't actually the tallest building, I believe it was the empire state building, and they referred to how they were surprised about this as Avengers tower looks bigger even on Empire State building.
