Hey everyone, just recently I posted this Spider-Man retrospectives video on my channel and I noticed that the audio was out of sync for the coverage on the Spider-Man 1 & 2, very bizarre this happened, no one as far as I'm aware had noticed and alerted me to it, it was very obvious to me during the opening trailers. So I've unlisted that video and re-uploaded this corrected version. Apologises for this, this rarely ever happens as I like to make sure the quality is maintained with my retrospectives.

This is really high quality stuff @OliverHarper, you truly are dedicated to your craft. These videos are very immaculately put together, ironically I saw all 3 films in the trilogy at UK Cinemas. For me the first 2 movies are the best Marvel Superhero movies put on-screen. Spiderman 3 is very flawed and not really great, the Editor Cut of Spiderman 3 is slightly marginally better if not as great as the earlier movies.

"..but he needed a sense of clarity, and that comes in the form of Aunt May. She really is the VOICE OF REASON for him.." Really only in this movie. Really . Only in that scene. Otherwise she is a rather judging hypocrite( she calls Spider-Man horrible for the first movie, but quickly changes her tune when he saves HER life. Then he's "A Hero" to her).

Avi Arad shot down the "love triangle" between Peter, MJ, and Doc Ock? That has to be, without a doubt, the BEST decision I've ever heard him making. Firstoff, that's never been Otto's deal. He's not sexless, but he's not into the type of ladies Peter's into. He's a very different guy. Read Superior Spiderman for a great example. Second, that is such a hack subplot. Have the villain lust after the hero's lady, just cuz she pretty? That demeans us all. Third, Spiderman 2's Otto is such a likeable guy because he's NOT an incel loser who treats women like objects. Dude has a wife. They have a history. He didn't just woo her with poetry, he LEARNED about poetry just to impress her. That's a classy guy. We like that guy. He's in love, his love loves him, but he accidentally kills her (shades of Uncle Ben) in his initial awful reaction to having his mind taken over. After that, the grief, the guilt, is buried deep inside, not revealed to him until he regains some clarity at the end. For him to just brush aside his beloved wife for his rival's gf....again, that demeans us all. EDIT: And now Avi Arad is pushing Venom in Spiderman 3. THIS is the kind of stuff I'm used to hearing. I guess tha Doc Ock boy was indeed the exception. That proves nothing.

I'm not a fan of Spider-Man. Never have been. Even as a little kid he never did anything for me. With that being said I think these movies are damn amazing. The final fight between Green Goblin and Spider-Man at the end of the first film blew me away when I was a wee lil lad even as a non Spidey fan. One of the most cinematic and visually satisfying superhero fights ever put on screen imo. 2 was also quite fantastic and though 3 was a let down to me on the whole it did give us Bully Maguire so I'll call it even. The fact that a non Spidey fan such as myself can enjoy these films so much is a testament to their quality and how well they compliment the character.

Ding ding ding ding. Its the core reason we've had just about every iconic film franchise trampled over to the point of being unrecognizable in the past decade. Never mind the fact that pandering to specific groups of people who don't actually give a toss about a given franchise won't magically turn up in droves to see a new entry specifically aimed at them. So long as film producers and execs can afford another party yacht or another summer condo in some third world island nation, who cares about things like quality or appeasing the true fans of a given property?

Great trilogy, shame these movies had to end..spider-man 3 wasn't a bad movie. I enjoyed it more than the first one to be honest. I think most people overlook the great stuff in it and just focus on the 'bad Peter dance' which is such a shame as the action, acting and music is top tier. Yeah there's too much stuff in the movie but its certainly not batman forever and batman and Robin 'too much'. Let's hope those spiderman 4 rumors are true as I want to see return.

The reason why the original trilogy and was memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth AVI ARAD on the other hand, just wanted to use the movies to sell toys Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of this movie Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise Spider-Man was nothing without her

I would say that this trilogy is the BEST vanila Spiderman portrait, i mean, mary jane is perfect, she is like that originally, a spicy seductivepretty girl that comes from a kinda broken home and that is impulsive, childish and superficial, that´s Mary Jane, the rest of the cast is perfect, Harry, the Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, as for Peter, kinda too nerdy in the Toby McGuire cast but he did it ok, Spiderman looks perfect, the ONLY problem with this trilogy is obviously Spiderman 3, they should have been more careful with that one, but maybe the director and crew were a bit burnout, i mean the same happened with the third dark knight movie, the script wasn´t good, Venom and sandman looked good but the cast of Edie Brock was a total mistake, he was suppose to be a big meat head, also they mismanaged the portrait of evil Peter possesed by Venom, is a very cringy movie at parts, but as a whole the trilogy was perfect for a classic vanilla portrait of spiderman for sure
