actually no. Tom told in one of the interviews that the people reviewing his audition tapes felt the flip to be tacky (I think it was the director, I don't remember). they got him on his acting merits alone.

Also when thry interview stunt team of Spiderman movies,they always mention how athletic Tom is and he could do the action but I never see them say that about Andrew or Tobey like that by the stunt team.

The casting director need's a raise.

but it's also the Director's job to guide the actors and make their performance look like he wants them to look like. If they are so good it's because they're good actors but also because they have been guided very well
