In the 90s cartoon finale, The House of M storyline, and the Spider-Verse storyline, there's are alternate versions of Uncle Ben where he doesn't die when Spider-Man stops the crook from getting away in the first place.

I like how Peter tried making his own costume, and it came out about what we'd expect out of a high school student with no sewing experience, but I also like how, he came up with the design and almost had the suit down pat

The fact that the dude figured out his age is far more interesting than anything else!!!😄

While adding Miles into the story is a nice way because he was retroactively made to have always existed on the main 616-verse by Molecule Man in Secret Wars, it feels very tacked on and is way too coincidental. All and all, a good story, but I preffer Ultimates origin telling more.

This is like the Sam Rami origin, not bad I guess

They could've made it more interesting by having uncle Ben knowing beforehand that Peter had powers, as to why he gave his speech in the first place

Everyone always forgets how strong Peter is

I like this origin much better than the movie versions. In this version Peter is genuinely selfish and greedy and doesn't lift a finger for absolutely no reason at all, and thus his uncle gets shot. However, in the original trilogy Peter got scammed over by the wrestling guy, and so letting the burglar go when the money was stolen didn't seem selfish at all, at least in my opinion. And in the Marc Webb movies the cashier who got his money stolen acted like a big jerk to Peter, so it seemed justifiable that Peter wouldn't stop the thief.

In the Raimi movie its pretty much almost the same as this except Peter ignores the thief because he was ripped off by the guy who was not gonna pay him thus thought he deserved it, which i think is pretty realistic. Similar to the Webb movies. Spiderman ignores it because he was scammed. Peter ignored it because he didn't care due to his selfish choice not to, where as it then leading to uncle ben dying was the consequence of his choice and thus being selfless to responsibility means that he should have done something despite his own self-interests. Where as im just ignoring it without a reason to justify him not doing anything, wouldn't put peter in the wrong, because there'd be no reason for anyone to expect him to stop him as just a bystander, rather than him considering not helping someone by choice.

I own that graphic novel and read it back in 2012. Good read it is, I hope one day we will get a sequel to it.

I've always thought that a cooler version of the generic origin story, would involve uncle Ben sustaining a head injury from getting shot and falling into acoma. Rather than just outright dying.

Didn't they just do an updated origin. Wasn't Spidey an updated, and that came out a year or two ago. And this origin Isn't even that good. It kinda sucks.

Vaping J.Jonah Jameson... Comics has gone to far.

Personally, I feel like I need Spider-Man's origin story retold to me at least 7 more times in comics and 3 more times in movies before I die.

What a nice break for the storyteller that Miles just happened to have his last name stencilled in large caps on the back of his jacket that day.

The thing I would have loved for this retelling to have is more moments between Peter and Uncle Ben, specially the part of him saying with great power comes great responsibility. Since we didn't get to see that moment in 60s or this one. It would have been more rewarding when Peter brought it up after knocking the thief out
