Striped hyena venom used to be villain but not he is anti hero

I want this Venom in the movies, funny, cocky, throws out as many quips as Spidey, but still strong and menacing. Also very happy to know everyone else found "Surf the web" as funny as I did

Gotta give Daran Norris major credit, he`s got an impressive range. Not only did he provide one of the coolest voices for Venom in this game, but he also provided the raspy voice for Scorpion and the high pitched voice of Mysterio ( who amusingly sounds near identical to Cosmo from Fairy Odd Parents). Plus he also played Human Torch, Punisher and Captain America. It's strange how he didn't voice J.Jonah Jameson here, even though he would voice him 8 years later in Spectacular Spiderman and he did a great job there, even managing to sound distinct from any of his characters here.

OMG NOW I know why Jameson's voice in Spectacular Spider-Man sounded so familiar to me! There was, like you said, that rasp in his voice that struck me as familiar somehow. A lot of voice actors when they alter their voice for exaggerated or differentiated effect can sound similar, but there was something about Jameson's voice that sounded oddly nostalgic!

Don't worry. I played the game at like 7 or 8 years old, even knowing English, didn't pay attention to the plot as I was just interested in beating everyone up as spiderman.

I love how when Scorpion went after Jameson, Jonah could've called the police himself, but instead he called his photographer and told him to call the police 😂

Avi Arad wanted to force Venom into Spider-Man 3 and Sam Raimi wanted to wait until Spider-Man 4. They tried the traditional black suit on Spidey and it looked like a sex suit to them so they scrapped it and went with the black and silver look from the film. Topher Grace didn't know anything about Venom or Eddie Brock and just took the job for the money. Sony is greedy and wanted to sell toys. Basically everything that went wrong with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin happened with the third Spidey movie.

@@BeatlesOasisFan Did I said spiderman has the best cutscenes in the world? I said it looks so good for 2001. Not many games were that good and with cutscenes prerendered inside the game. If you want an even early reference, check Quake 2 from 1993. In some cases, games did not evolved too much untill recently. They had ups and downs, but not for spidey.

In spidey's case looks good and it is rendered inside the game. But I'm totally agree with both of you, '90's games are awsome and I love 'em much more than the new ones

That's because Eddie works together with his symbiote, rather than trying to control him. They also encourage each other's behavior, so there's no need to control anything. Spidey figured Ock was planning on making the symbiotes do what he wanted and judged it as an insane plan from his own experience with the symbiote, since the symbiote brought out the worst in him and does the same with Eddie.

@@BlazeKnight_95 If only the Venom symbiote had been open with Peter from the start. Maybe it would have turned out better if he didn't freak out so badly and reject it so harshly. The Carnage symbiote never had a chance because it was bonded to a monster.

Plus the venom symbiote actually had different ideologies from the other symbiotes , it wanted to form the perfect bond with someone forever and that's why it was so mad when Peter rejected it cuz he was such an amazing host considering all that he had in his spider powers

8:07 I don’t think people give this part enough credit. It perfectly shows why Spider-Man is hands down one of the best superheroes ever; the fact that he puts others’ needs before his own no matter what the cost is remarkably wholehearted. It helps people to realise the hero that’s in all of us and how in a way we’re all Spider-Man, how we can also be self-sacrificing heroes that inspire others to bring out the best of themselves as much as us. How anyone can ever dawn the mask for themselves no matter who’s under it. I haven’t seen many scenes in Spider-Man games come close to topping that one, in fact some scenes in Spider-Man games fail at conveying this (for instance in Spider-Man: Edge of Time where Peter argues with Miguel to save MJ).

When venom and spider-man worked together. My whole childhood right in this game, the nostalgia!!!!!

20 years later and Monster Ock still seems to want to haunt my nightmares. So that is a thing.... Man I love this game.

Man the scenes where Rhino charges at you Mysterious grows and Carnages laugh always give me goosebumps lol

I LOVED this game as a kid, and i think i STILL have it in my garage, talk about Nostalgia!!!

it's amazing looking back of how different games were back then, and look at them now, 17 years later, games nearly look like a movie like the new god of war that is coming out

In the final mission, all you had to do is running away from Monster Ock, because the place was about to explode to smithereens

God, the memories came flooding back. I remember being gifted this game by my second grade teacher. Needless to say, she was my favorite after that. Man, So many emotions...mostly rage at that damned train and trauma from Doc Carnage.

Wow! I played this game a lot as a kid., but didnt pay attention to story. People who made this game did an amazing job. Best spider-man I've played.

I love the transitions between scenes, closing up with the Spider symbol and the soundeffect.

This part in 10:51 was actually changed. In the re-rendered cutscenes, they took the lazy way out with this scene unlike the PSone version which shows Spidey falling in with an ACTUAL moving background. Also, 11:18 shows a shorter flashback than the one in the PS1 version. If I were to list all the differences, I would just be able to sum them all up as they are (mostly) beta versions of cutscenes actually being re-rendered. The N64 uses beta versions of these FMVs and while the graphics might be the same as PSone, the animations are the ones in Dreamcast and PC.

That's because Treyarch when making the Dreamcast port (which LTI Gray Matter based this version on) used the beta animations and didn't have time to iron out all the kinks. That's why you see in some scenes PS1 models instead of the revamps. P.S. 11:05 Mary Jane's PS1 model appears instead of the cute revamp

I was too young back then to realize how many hero and villian cameos were in this game. Loved this game! This my favorite Venom potrayal, also including Ultimate Spiderman game.

Venom is like 10ft tall man . This Motherfucker was tough first time battling him I lost 30 times but when I beat him the first time man it was great .

This game was so good! I still remember some of the dialogue

OMG the memories!! I remember watching these cutscenes over and over, good times

I like that this game tries to keep the continuity with the comics from the 1960's onward with a floating timeline, like Jameson telling Scorpion "It's a new millenium!" and Mysterio saying "For decades I wasnted to shut that mouth of yours!" Like, they have been doing these adventures for decades but the characters aren't aging, I like that. Admittedly I never paid attention how much time moves in the comics but I never really gave it much thought.

i noticed as you grow... these cut scenes get more and more funny through time!

I was watching at these cutscenes, when I noticed that at minute 3:08 *Venom with PC graphics* suddenly changes at minute 3:09 as *Venom with PS1 graphics* LOL

Gem of a game

The statue cutscene, falling down sewer scene, Mysterio defeated cutscene, the Punisher cutscene intro, SpiderMan running down the hall to find Doc Ock and Carnage (strangest cutscene for SpiderMan, as his body uses the PS1 model but his head is the PC/DC one), Monster Ock defeat, SpiderMan about to get into the Quinn Jet Which BTW uses a few PS1 models like for Cap America, and I think Black Cat uses it in a frame or 2), and SpiderMan playing cards scenes are ones with PS1 models and such. Quite interesting...

I need to know who voiced Carnage they nailed his role and made me love a serial killer with that laugh Alone.

I swear this would be so great if it was remastered in insane graphics

"Are we gonna (comedic pause) SURF THE WEB?" then next scene: "SURF THE WEB, SURF THE WEB" It's weird how the joke actually gets funnier when repeated like this

I love this spider-man version of the game better than the PS1 one that I have this game sure does bring me back memories from my childhood it's like looking at the animated series of Spider-man on t.v., but without Christopher Daniel Barnes behind the voice of Spider-man which would've been cool if they had him do it. But nonetheless I love the cutscenes to it Venom was funny in it, and Spider-man did some punching without breaking his web shooters just like on the animated series t.v show. To be honest the PC version is way better than the one I have on PS1 because of the graphics, and animated designs it's 2016 and I still love Spider-man and the video game.

Dude Rino Romano is another great choice for spiderman. He was the voice for spiderman in Spiderman Unlimited, the squeal to the animated series.

To this day this game is still my favorite one about Spidey. The story and gameplay were amazing at the time.

WOW! For a game in 2000, the model for Venom still holds up. The texturing is amazing, and I wish more models of Venom nowadays could do the same
