amazing video! though in 4:35, i actually stopped working on the EE mod ages ago, and solidsnake11 was the one who first found the prototype symbiote model but just thought it was the original model without the goo stuff at the bottom, though i was the one that looked into all the information about the model though, as i said before though, amazing video :)

Well, Prototype Symbiotes are in february 2000 build!

This is why i love Spider-Man 2002. It's basically Spider-Man 2000 on steroids, and set in the wonderdul world of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies. It also had the prettiest Spider-Man model to this day as well. Highly underrated IMO.

I remember playing it for the first time, it was mind blowing. I played it on a relative's PS1 demo disc before I even had a console, then a year or two later I got my first console, a PS2, and this was the first game I got with it. Such good times

Can’t believe it’s been 20 years I had the Dreamcast port and was 12 years old when the original ps1 version was released in 2000 (I’m old af 😂) it’s so cool that there’s an entire community surrounding the classic that got me hooked on Spider-Man .... and the 2002 movie of course PS: the World Trade Center attacks were planes not bombs

I really want the goal of my channel to be covering and documenting obscure bits of fandom and underappreciated superhero media! I'm glad you could learn something from this! Anganoff also has a pretty informative channel about some of the betas, that's where I got a lot of my info from, they've actually just found another beta disc recently. We're working on a special project for the 20th anniversary of this game in 2020 as well ;)

Spider-Man on PS2 was originally a project to port/remake Spider-Man 2000 for PS2, it ended up becoming a movie tie in as a result of the first Spider-Man movie in the Sam Raimi trilogy.

Ive only ever played the ps1 version. I never even knew the DC and PC ports were better looking. I always thought even the ps1 version looked good. And the texture warping in the tunnels chasing venom looks great imo

Personally, I prefer most character models from the PlayStation port. Save for Black Cat, really. Venom, and Carnage look over stylized on Dreamcast, and Mysterio just looks... off. Pretty much every villain looks overdone in some way. While the protagonists, and such look improved

I felt like Spider-Man ps1 was the most bad ass Spider-Man game out of any Spider-Man game I’ve played. Story wise

I was lucky enough to play the original Enter Electro final fight version, because back in the day in Mexico most of the ps1 consoles were modded and basically everyone used pirated copies

*Super Swim Team 7* : I think the 2000, 2001, and 2002 Raimi Spider-Man games were in production at the same time. Scorpion in 2000 beta uses his classic colors, while his final release resembles 90’s comics, which is also used in the 2002 game. *Me* : considering there’s classic and then enhanced controls for the movie game, it honestly was my only clue that maybe it was inspired by Spider-Man 2000. Now that I see enter electro and 2000 comparisons, I honestly think it makes sense.

I'm pretty certain this is the case, at the very least, I think enter-electro started production around the time of the Spider-Man 2000 E3 demo, because enter electro feels technically inferior to 2000, and the reason for that is that it's based on an old version of the engine. As for Spider-Man 2002, it was likely in pre-production as they were finalizing 2000, briefly before it went gold. There might have been a span of 2 to 6 months where all three games were in development at the same time.

Oh shit, dude. I didn't even know there was a tie-in comic that came out with the game. Really well done video you've made too. BTW where can I get that gamepro comic even if it's difficult to find?

The Spider-Man movie game is confirmed to have begun as a port of this game.

Well, they indeed used Spider-Man 2000's Engine to begin their work in Spider-Man: The Movie tie-in game back in 2002. As a matter of fact, given how loosely (and LOOSELY AS FUCK, I should add) based on the movie itself that game was, I believe they actually started the project conceiving it as a Spider-Man 3 of some sorts. We all know that, back in the day, games based on movies weren't exactly that much faithful, but come on...

I honestly do believe it was gonna be a Spider-Man 3 as well. But then reworked the game to tie into the original Movie. Mainly because of the similar Scorpion designs and that Spidey fights Goblin in the city and not the festal like in the movie.

Enter electro felt more like an expansion pack. I still like it tho. The Enter Electro book also had promos for the spiderman movie game.

How do you add texture mods to SpiderMan 2000? I can't wrap my head around it...

I have a question to ask. So I downloaded the game on pc and somehow it doesn't play the cutscenes. Is there a file I could download that HAS the cutscenes?

Personally I think the 2nd one isn’t better but just a little under the 1st and a wonder additional game it has all the same basic mechanics with more suits that are pretty sweet !! I don’t like how you can touch the ground tho.

I'd love for someone to take the assets and make a new game. A Spider-Man 3 if you will

Super Swim Team 7 I can already think of the villains, Green Goblin as the main of course, Hobgoblin, Chamelion (as a cameo but no boss), Hydro-Man, Vulture, Kingpin, and Beetle (since he had a small part in the second game but no boss fight like Lizard in the first game).

Yes!! I totally agree about these villains. Hobgoblin/demogoblin, Green Goblin, and Vulture would make for interesting gameplay as they're flying villains. Chameleon would be cool too. Also other villains could be The Jackal, kraven the Hunter, Prowler, Tombstone, Morbius, Alistair Smythe, and Kaine
