I got me a BB-8 some years ago. I just took it out for the first time in a while, and I have to say I still love the little thing. Too bad Sphero doesn't make them anymore, they are some of the best little droids out there.

@@noich5398 i ordered and got R2 D2 a week ago and turns out that the app that makes the robots function is no longer available due to Disney cutting ties with Sphero toys or something like that and the seller I bought it from through E bay did not mention this which I think is really wrong n shady but on the box it sais you can also use an app called edu and it works turning on and moving the Robot but no sounds available ☹️

I recently picked up a BB 9E and a R2 D2 together in a bundle off ebay. The Droid app still works fine for me. I connected them all no problem, and it updated the Droid software and everything. I figure that it may work for me because I already had the app before it was discontinued. I can still download the app from my library, and it works. I think the type of phone matters too. Some phone updates will make the app no longer functional without an update of its own. I'm using a Samsung in case anyone is wondering.

Have three R2D2s got then for 59, and 39 bucks respectively. Had them over Two years without any issues. Also have the other three robots, but R2 is without a doubt the best, so accurate, great lighting and accurate in robot sound effects, with an incredible app to program and control the robot. At 39 bucks pretty had to pass up on such a great product.

Back when Sphero was a decent company that made cool stuff and not a boring educational only company… come in Sphero, you could have made BANK by making even more astromechs… we would have loved a Sphero chopper, R4-P17, and more!

How did you sync the droid to the band? I've been trying to connect R2D2 to it, but it won't sync. Both droid and band connect to their individual apps, but when trying to use the Force Band in the R2D2 app, it doesn't detect it. How did you make it detect?

Hi Rochelle. You don’t really need the app to control your robot with the Force Band. Hold the robot up to your wrist for the band to connect via Bluetooth. Once it is connected, the lights will turn blue.

Nicely made video. I would say that the only downside is the too pretty wealthy peoples house used as a background. Now the toy commercial tells me these robots are for rich kids.

А будь оно норм размера моно было бы поигратся, уже интересно.. Например приспособить его, пиво привозить с холодильника ) p.s. А вообще я о том.. что за такие денжищи такую маленькую хрень - идиотизм. Экономия на материале притом огромные деньги.
