@@travelforphoebe it's so amazing how connecting to people and culture brings you so much joy Phoebe and we can just see that is the sole reason why you travel, some people travel for money and chances to get sponsors to be in luxury places and I don't mind but with you, you can tell that you still have the authentic travel soul to meet people and know the stories of the places and it's just refreshing to have people who still do travel that way 🌸

Normally foreign tourists visit Mumbai city's some chaotic neighbourhood but very seldom explore tourists destinations in Mumbai. In case if yours time permits do try to these bucket list destinations in Mumbai suburbs- dahanu beach, madh island, manori island, Kanhoji Angre Island, Sanjay gandhi national park, sewri mangrove park, vasai fort, mahakali caves, kanheri caves, elephanta caves, global vipassana pagoda, sasoon dockyard, aarey colony, art deco buildings, Gilbert hill, Ville Parle Lush Green Farms & Gardens, Tulasi and virar lakes. Keep Exploring India. Take Care. 😊Cheers 🙏

HI ! I am in Mumbai. What you have seen is just South Mumbai. There is much more in Mumbai. Mumbai festivals like Janmashtami. People make human tower to break a pot hanging upto 50 feet up in sky ?? Come to Ganesh chaturthi time. Lord Ganesha festival 10 days. Mumbai goes creazy, Come Navratri, 10 days Dancing festival for Goddes Amba and her nine different incarnation. We all celebrate these festivals Plus there is much more like Borivali national park where canheri caves are there, You missed on Elephnta caves around 5th or 6th centuries ! There is more excellent food places all around Mumbai. There is much ore to see. Come again for atleast 5 to 6 days atleast if you want to explore Mumbai in depth with planning ofcourse.

Hiya! It's me again, catching up after moving houses. I'm happy you finally found a good tour guide that treats you with respect. I'm not staying in a Taj hotel since I've seen the Taj Mahal movie, it's so freakin' scary. What'd you think of that hotel? Because it truly does look beautiful. Any dish that calls something masala is amazing. I love the Indian curry tastes. It's just a pity that my bowels get upset by onion and garlic and that seems to be the main ingredients. Those cows were so happy with you bringing food. Being rich is not about money. Being rich is about learning cultures, experiencing things, travel the world. It makes me proud seeing you travel all around the globe, even at places that are not the safest for a solo traveling woman. Thank you for sharing and have an amazing week ahead 🤙

Totally diff vibe than mainstream Indian cities...Visiting these places is a must if you visit India...if not in this trip but you should definitely visit them in the next one.

Anand....perfect, as you said. He says his name means "happy" and that is definitely what he appears to have given to you--your Happy. Your smile and energy. As you said later, he restored your humanity. Made you feel like a welcomed guest instead of the object that the people in the North treated you like. We can see just how great a time you had there, and it really seems like a lot of that came from Anand, as well as that amazing place. He sounds like he was a great teacher and created that genuine connection. Heck...he's obviously a great person. * What did that laundry smell like? Clean? Or...not so clean? * Loved how he always called you "Ms. Lee." * Really like you allowing Anand to talk about his own city. The looks on your face while describing the prior use of the gardens was hilarious! * After describing the food at that one stall, props to Anand...let's go find something more "authentic!" And good job working with you to find a great coffee. * This is what a real tour guide should be! Show you his city, but make sure your tour works with what you want and need. Not just take you to some photo spot or some over priced restaurant or store, but show you the city. Awesome. * Pretty beach! Was it vacant because of the hot weather? * This particular vlog is "Travel with Anand!" Awesome to let him take over at the Gateway and the hotel! 🤣 * When next you visit--try the Taj Mahal hotel...wow. Would love to see what it's like in there! * Good call on skipping the caves...better to see the city and learn as much as you did from Anand. * Watching your videos makes sticking to my healthy diet a bit challenging...that Masala looked soooooooooo good! * Pretty neat seeing the street market...that turned into a "chop shop?" Wow. * How cool to go to the Cow Shelter...you really enjoyed that so much! * I've got a big grin on my face while you talk to us in the taxi and hearing how happy you were in Mumbai and how well Anand restored your faith. What an amazing day. Glad you were able to continue to persevere through the bad in the North and discover beautiful Anand and Mumbai! Here's hoping the good vibes continued and we look forward to next week! Rob&Erin

He made this day so much fun. hahaha the laundry actually smelled so good! It was so fresh hahaha Love it! Yes I think the beach was empty because it's the height of summer and super hot. Maybe it's more popular later in the day and maybe on weekends too? Hope you both have a great week ahead. P x

Being an Indian we can hardly handle the rest of the months, it's either too much rain, or too much sun, The humidity is going to ruin everything you wear within a couple of mins. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Himlayas (not during winter). And places like Jaipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kerala, Goa.

Phoebe how do you find these one on one guides. Those who are reliable, honest and safe. Thinking about going to London and would like to fashion trip with a private tour. Also cost is a factor for us as well. Thank you in advance.

haha I just get lucky!! Anand was organised by the company I booked the tour through (linked in the vid description) but not every guide I've had in India has been amazing like Anand and Singh - they've been exceptional. If I were looking to book a guide/one-day tour myself, I would've just booked one through Klook (links in video description too).

Would also recommend to checkout different parts of Mumbai like the suberbs the next time. Major recommendation please stay at hotel intercontinental if you want the best view of Mumbai. Places to eat at in Mumbai: *1. Elco Pani puri - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)* - One of the best Pani puris in town. Very clean & hygienic. They use bottled mineral water to make these. So very safe to eat Pani Puris at this place. *2. Sardar Pav Bhaaji - (area - Tardeo in Mumbai)* - The best and the most buttery Paav Bhaaji on Planet Earth. *3. Bade Miyan - Late night place - is open till 3 am or so (area - near Taj hotel & the Gate way of India in Mumbai)* A late night place, patrons eat in their cars, but has a seating area as well. Famous for their wraps, Tikkas, Tandooris & barbecued stuff. *4. Leopold Cafe (area - Colaba causeway in Mumbai)* - Nice beer, barbecues, nice desserts. *5. Pancham Puriwala - (area - fort in Mumbai)* - 5 types of puris(bread), savory dishes & desserts. *6. Persian Darbar - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)* Famous for their Raan Biryani. Delicious Mughlai cuisine. You'll love it. *7. Mahesh Lunch home - (area - Juhu Tara road in Mumbai)* Heaven for Sea food lovers. Very clean & hygienic and you can get the most iconic sea food dishes here. *8. Mini Punjab's Lake side - (area Powai in Mumbai)* Need to call and book a thaali(platter) in advance. Famous for its Dara Singh Thaali - available in both veg & non-veg versions. A must try. *9. Britannia & co. restaurant - (area - Ballard estate, Fort in Mumbai)* Famous for its Irani / Parsi cuisine. Awesome Desserts & Sodas. *10. Anand Stall - (Vile Parle west in Mumbai)* A fast food joint famous for its awesome Vada Paav, Sandwiches & Dosas. *11. Mohammed Ali road - (Area - CST - 6 pm onwards till late night)* The whole street is filled with street vendors who sell various non-vegetarian stuff and some vegetarian too. Plus, there are some really nice restaurants on the same street. Try the famous dessert that you get only on this street in a sweet shop. The dessert is called Aflatoon.

Northern suburbs will give you a different profile of Mumbai altogether. South Mumbai, that you visited is very good, but a lot of travelers do not get recommended to try the northern part, which is equally safe, if not more. It is not as glorified as South Mumbai, but it is definitely free of british feeling. I am not the right person to suggest a good tour guide, since I am from Mumbai, but I can definitely recommend you places to visit in suburbs.

Do go to Fort / Hutatma Chowk area and go to Mahesh Lunch Home for really excellent Sea food. They also have a branch at Juhu near the Beach. Go to Pali Hill , Banda area for shopping and old world charm. Also go to Napean sea road , Kemps’s corner area. Check out Natural ‘s ice cream. Anand will introduce you to famous Bombay Veg Sandwich , Pav bhaji , Pani Puri , Brel Puri these are tips of food Berg 😁. Bada Miya’s famous Kebabs etc. etc. that’s a whole massive world of food in Mumbai from Street to Fine Dining. There used to be a British Model from UK , who had a vlog called “Niomi Smart”. She had explored antiques in Bombay and visited places in Bombay I didn’t know existed. But you should visit ajanta, ellora and elephanta caves. Done miss it.
