In January 2023 I went on a cruise with Holland America. Our first stop was Grand Turk Island. Grand Turs is located in the Turks and Caicos Islands, offers a wide range of activities for visitors. We also went to the Grand Turk Lighthouse: This historic lighthouse was built in 1852 and offers stunning views of the island and the ocean. There is a small entrance fee. We also got to hang out with the wild donkeys that inhabit the island. Donkeys have been present on the island since the 1700’s.
We also got to see a replica of the Friendship VII space capsule that was used by US Astronaut, John Glenn when he made his historic splashdown off Grand Turk on February 2, 1962.
