Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZread channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

We recently watched this series and fell in love with the charm and affordability of Ukraine. You did such an amazing job capturing this amazing country, we had no idea how amazing it is. Unfortunately, we may never get to experience it as you did due to the ongoing situation with Russia. So we feel so fortunate that we have your vlogs to reflect back on to enjoy this amazing place. Thank you!

I personally think that we may have to wait a long time to experience Kara's and Nate's restaurants...because the hotels, flights, tours, and airbnbs will be sold out! Tourists from all over the world will be visiting once these people have a chance to rebuild. Thanks so much to Nate and Kara for these wonderful videos in the meanwhile.

Oh you will be able to experience it I’m sure (and I am Ukrainian😄). We all love our country sooooo much, so I know for sure everything that was destroyed by russians will be rebuild as soon as the war ends. Please come visit Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Yaremche, Verhovyna, my lovely hometown Odesa and all other cities (aspecially the little ones in the Carpathians). The very best places in our country are outside of big cities. Recommend you to rent a car and just drive from Odessa to Uzgorod, I did this and it was my best trip ever😍 So hope you’ll be able to visit Ukraine as soon as war ends🇺🇦💛

@franek frankowski Lviv is a city in western Ukraine, around 70 kilometers from the border with Poland. Traces of its Polish and Austro-Hungarian heritage are evident in its architecture, which blends Central and Eastern European styles with those of Italy and Germany. In High Castle Park, the mountaintop ruins of a 14th-century castle provide panoramic views of the city’s green-domed churches and the surrounding hills.

My girlfriend, born in Canada and who has never been outside of the country, went with me to Odessa to visit my family. She loved it so much she still thinks I should just move back and take her with. Of course I joke about the difference between tourism and immigration, but I was just so pleasantly surprised how much she loved my country with all its quirks. I tried to explain aboit thr poverty, overall state of disrepair, shadiness, general disregard for the rule of law - she said she witnessed all of those things around her where she was growing up in Canada. It was so interesting and refreshing to look at my country with someone else's eyes

I'm an avid Europe traveler and Lviv is in my top 3 favorite old towns. It's so great. After dark, the night scene with cafes open late into the night, crows of people watching fire breathing performers, bands playing in the main square and the hustle and bustle of small side streets echoing with jovial laughter is exactly what I look for when traveling.
Brilliant, when everyone is searching Ukraine.

@@galynameshkurova3603 Well I lived in Moskvabad for 17 years after Ukraine and I moved to Canada from over there. It has nothing to do with my views, I am just using my old KZread account with this name on it. Didn't mean to be offensive to anyone.

I watched this video when you first posted it. With everything going on in the Ukraine it breaks my heart. I live in Utah and I don't know what words to use when thinking about the devastation and lives lost. I've been watching youtube channels of those who lives in the Ukraine and Russia.. I'll be continuing to pray for all of those who have lost so much.
As an ode to your financial transparency days (Always respected that you did that for so long!) you should donate all KZread proceeds from Ukraine vids this month to an aide organization. Loved watching these. Love y’all!
The irony of the timing of their Ukraine posts 😂😳

it's when coffee & chocolate get married!! i cant take much more..i must get there!
That cemetery was amazing! The chocolates looked yummy, and I am pretty sure I smelled the coffee! Thanks for sharing, safe travels!
This video was super helpful and it may have just added Ukraine to my bucket list because OMG WOW. A vlog like this every now and again for countries that people don’t know a whole lot about would be really nice. Most of all though I love it when you guys give context for the cities/countries you see
Omg, that's my city! I enjoyed watching this video so much and the way you represented Lviv in all its beauty !!! Just incredible ! Love you, guys.
Love how Kara is easily amused, with her absolutely wicked laugh at Sumer! lol
One hell of a good day...well done! This is going on my bucket list. I did notice how nice that box of chocolate was...shame it was likely totally decimated in a mater of minutes after leaving. Damn I love coffee and chocolate and discovering gem locations like this is oh so fun! Way to go you 2...great vlog! Shows the passion for discovery!
I've seen these spending $100 videos before but yours is by far the most entertaining and well put together :) made me want to visit this city too... looks lovely :) Thanks so much for sharing!
I hope these places and people survive the war ❤️🇺🇦
Watching on Mar. 11, 2022, day 16 of the onslaught of Russia vs Ukraine; my heart is aching for these people as they fight for their country! Praying for these people! "Let God arise and let His enemies be scattered!" Psalm 68:1

This is so great you guys are showing the beauty of my country! We do really love foreigners to come and see it.
I haven't been to Europe since 1970. My Bible was Arthur Frommer's "Europe on $5.00 on day" (lol). If I still have it, it is in storage. However, you can get a reprint of it according to the internet. The main reason everything is so cheap is be cause the average wage in the Ukraine is $200.00 a month in USD. They really depend on the American dollar. I saw a video several months ago of a typical apt, small, very old and unattractive occupied by two girls. Certainly beautiful but it does not reflect their actual living conditions.
