My son's one has been build in an evening last friday, including all electronics , and made his maiden flight (4min.30) on the next morning. In the hands of a full rookie (apart of few hours on simulator), it's a formidable machine!

Awesome.. this one does feel VERY solid. I was skeptical at 1st, but by the time it was assembled, it felt sturdy.

@@OneManUnmanned I pulled a bonehead move, I was testing Rescue Mode and I didn't think it was doing anything, I went to switch modes but I disarmed it instead....130 feet drop, nose first, fortunately it landed in a bush but I don't think the frame would have been damaged much. Now I man practicing muscle memory drills on my transmitter.

Been flying the old speedybee fs225 v2 for nearly 3 years now and still love the frame. Have you seen their mario 8 folding frame?

I've seen it, but it's not for retail...At least not on the SpeedyBee site. I think you have to go to Bangoood or Alibaba to find it. I inquired about it months ago, but was not available for review.

Thank you again. I'm sorry, I do have one more question if you don't mind. Since I want to install a GPS, it looks like I will have to install the FC/ESC stack backwards in order to have the XT60 come through the front. However, I don't want to do that, since it will mess up the length of all the other cables from the connectors on my F7 V3 stack. If I mount the FC/ESC stack facing forward, is there enough room between the stack to pull a long XT60 pigtail through to the front?

  • @OneManUnmanned

I'm confused about the last part of your question, but I just finished the build on this frame today. I used some electronics from a previous build, but I had to install the FC and ESC in reverse like you asked. I did NOT utilize the XT60 plug integrated in the rear TPU. I actually wired and routed the battery lead through the front hole. There was actually space for the capacitor between the front FPV camera and the flight stack.

@@OneManUnmanned No worries. I figured O can install tue FC facing forward and the ESC facing backwards. as long as the FC is facing forward, everything is good. i just have to reverse tue order and direction of the motors.

It is beautiful... But it was difficult to hold the mid/ bottom plates, keep the front camera parts together, and know what bolts to use during assembly. It did turn out great, though, and should be an awesome build.

Maybe not for you, or me for that matter, but compared to other frames, it's a bit more difficult. If you look at any reviewers that built this frame on camera, they had a few "fumbles" or mishaps, including myself. It's still a good quality frame and done, just not the easiest to assemble, especially with the not so clear instructions.
