This is the best Laramoto video to date! I wish something like this was available near me. I’m in the middle of the state of Iowa in the middle of the United States so this school would be a bit of a stretch. Way back in 1972 I learned to ride on a speedway bike put together by a neighbor. I didn’t know it was a speedway bike at the time and I didn’t understand his ability to get brand new Jawa equipment either. We had a roughly oval track on unused city property. The ability to feel comfortable while sliding has served me well over the years as well as not being dependent on brakes to get myself out of trouble. Laramoto made me jealous watching her go round the track. The use of on board cameras was brilliant. Why is this video so great? It made me want to ride by transferring the fun that Laramoto was experiencing to me, rain and all.

Hello Joe! Thank you so much and again for your time in watching. Unusually for me this was recorded and filmed in one day, tried to make it snappy. Sounds like you have some slidey skills too and you don't need a speedway bike to do it - Flat tracking feels similar on a gravel track and you get to do right hand turns.... appreciate your feedback Joe!

One more thing, when do we get another one of your superb riding impressions? You always touch on the experience of riding a particular bike in a way that is very refreshing compared to just facts and figures.

Really interesting. As a non racer road rider, if my rear tyre is stepping sideways I'm not happy..... in fact the last time it happened it was swiftly followed by grip and a short flight! I guess getting comfortable with slides ultimately makes you a better rider, nice job out there.

Hello Rich! I totally get what you mean - hate it when I have ambiguity under my tyres. It's why I'm trying to spend a bit of time off road... however it sounds like you highsided yourself... what were you doing?

@@Laramoto Yes first proper off in 30 odd years of riding. On my MT10 pulling out of Pidcocks Nottingham on a cold winter day. Just opened the throttle too quickly, stepped sideways in an instant then gripped. Was sort of a disbelief how high I went. Bike was relatively undamaged (still cost 1K to fix back to perfect) Me no broken bones but badly bruised. My Yam dealer said because I had just started the bike and was pulling away just after, the traction control probably hadn't had chance to set. Definitely proved you can high side with TC on.

So glad you were ok in the end and the MT10 was restored to shiny glory. Feels weird 'loving' this comment but the detail will benefit everyone who reads it. Certainly a reminder to use all to respect cold tires (my missing finger reminds me of that every day, but I never could count to 10 anyway!)

This Honda 125 engines are interesting.. I took a 1971 Honda SL 125 Engine .. Powroll bored and stroked it to 160 cc's with a ported head and hotter cam .. I used a much bigger carbuarator too and put the engine in a 1977 Honda CR-125 frame .. a fun trail bike ..

Hello Mike Skidmore! Yeah people tend not to think much of 125s but with the right tuning (or just larger boring) you can get a decent punch out of them. For my first speedway ride, 125 was more than enough! Thank you so much for watching!

@@Laramoto About 1 year after I built my bored and stroked to 160 CC SL 125 dirt bike in a Honda CR-127 Motocross frame, Honda came out with the New XR-200. It had a much bigger bore shorter stroke and 4 valve head.. It had considerably more power because it would turn higher RPM's . All the same I have a very light good handling trail bike. I think maybe you are too young to know how powerful and fast 125 CC Two Stroke Motocross bikes are and how fast a 125 CC two stroke roade race bike can be .. I think some of them are up around 45 HP or more ..

@@Laramoto Here is a Modern 250 CC Two stroke 75 HP www.mcnews.com.au/langen-motorcycles-two-stroke-250/ Maybe the maxiumum power for 125 CC is more like 38 HP ?

@@Laramoto Kenny Roberts build his own Two stroke Race bikes too that were Amazing technology for the time .. Called Proton ..
