I like how most of these people are complaining about glitches in a Speedrun, the point is to beat the game as fast as possible. If you don't want glitches look at the glitchless Speedrun catagorie

@@mokonono5903 While I'm not a doctor, I don't see how people can call it 'surgery' when they use things like anesthesia and calipers. In my opinion, this is unfair and borderline cheating, and I don't really see why people want this. Yeah, it's fast and efficient, but it's not what the designer of the body intended so I'm not sure if it should count.

@@kvltrites4534 I think its more that when people hear "Speedrun" it implys that they went though the game as fast as possible in the normal way. I.E no glitches. I infact had this issue when i first learned of speedrunning and i was pissed when i saw the game get glitched though rather than played though. Now if it had been titled "Glitchrun" or something to that effect id have had no problem with it but because of how the title sounded i felt lied to. Now i have no ill feelings for glitchrunners and the like, you do you bro, but I do feel like the term "Speedrun" should mean exactly that. A plain old speed run though the game.

@@KitsuneNiko They got through the game as fast as possible using nothing but what the game provides them Thanks to glitches being extremely arbitrary 'glitchless' is a contentious title that varies per game, but for the most part people don't watch them because theyre inconsistent and rng dependent most of the time

I swear, when i read or hear about speed runners doing stuff like this, I can't help but truly admire the dedication. Also, it feels like they make a completely different game, like turning a survival horror into some kind of crazy complex version of a puzzle game with no certain win condition.

I'm always curious about what specifically led to a discovery of some skip/trick and I have to say that this one probably takes the cake so far. I've never ever seen such long and convoluted setup but the result is just brilliant. Thank you for making this video.

When a dude who’s speedran as much as Waifu has says a trick is the most convoluted he’s ever seen, you know it must be pretty ridiculous

That's waifu's main challenge regarding the channel,I think. If he succeeds in making you interested in watching a speedrun -related video about a game which you've never experienced yourself, then he has done his job right. On this note, waifu if you're seeing this then I just want you to know that you're going in the right direction and this channel is gonna blow one day if you keep up doing videos in the current manner, obviously in addition to you having fun while doing so. If you like survival horror, it's very possibly the best I've ever played in the genre. The atmosphere, the gunplay mechanics, progression, baked-in diagetic UI, monster variety, it's all just phenomenally done. (I've never played the third game, but I 100% vouch for the first two)

Love how this turns dead space 2 from issac getting over the death of his girlfriend and getting a new one. To a deranged fantasy issac repeats over and over to cope with his girlfriend's death and imprisonment.

ive also heard that if you wait in your apartment for a long enough time due to covid you can skip to chapter 13 in life. you might break your hands a few times while punching the walls to keep zero g on your way to becoming invincible immortal

really enjoyed the video. i love speedrunning communities and how they're able to make the impossible into reality. on another note, ur taste in music is amazing. you've just earned yourself and astrophysics a sub and a new fan! ^^

Theres a speedrun to get a star in Super Mario Sunshine (i forget if its vanilla 100% or not) where you do some object manipulation that teleports you to the sky box.... however the skybox is SUPER HIGH and you had to fall for 30 minutes to and hour or more just to land on a hovering star above a building

IIRC, the drill section was either right before, or right after the free save you got on the Hard to the Core run.

Only a speedrunner could come up with the idea of doing literally nothing....to go fast. Hats off to the guys ingenuity.

@@Fur4all I half life speedrun speed runners skip getting the suit by going through the air the HEV suit actually gives you damage but it stops you from getting damage boost

There were two things I never thought I'd see in this video. The soles of the patient suit and falling animations in a Dead Space game.

I highly respect deadspace speed rubs and I gotta applaud those who can figure out glitches

This is actually a really well put together video. You were surprisingly able to make me audibly laugh out loud which I didn't expect in a video about one of the scariest games I know of. Good job, either way. Dead space is just such a cinematic game, it doesn't surprise me that there has been so much waiting around in it. PS: If you were curious, it was the joke about taking away Ellie's depth perception.

I didn't even know they made a fall animation for Isaac, learn something new every day.

I really like these videos. You explain these crazy tricks and skips in such a way that causal players like me understand it well.

It's incredible how each skip in the sequence is both a time saver on its own and also sets up the next skip by changing some quirk of the map/player
