Yeah, it's not perfect and the more we research it, the more we can identify its flaws but I also like it. It's my first sub-40mm piece and am surprised by how much I like smaller now.

Paid £3k for mine in Jan so gotta be happy with that

Me too in Dec.! Paid right around that price in HKD as well, so I think we both did well and shouldn't lose anything on it in the long run. Just 3 months later I don't see many going for that price anymore...

I own the Speedmaster Reduced thinking to swap for this FOIS or the Tudor BB58? I own a Tudor ranger too. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Given that you already have the Ranger, then I'd switch the Reduced for the FOIS. The BB58 is of course a great daily but I would keep a Speedy in the collection, and maybe later down the road you'd want to switch the Ranger for the BB58.

I just ordered a NOS one made in 2020, so one of the last. I think as they did not make more than 16k of them total in 8 years it should be a good investment.

Oh you're lucky, did you manage to order one from an AD? The Omega boutiques should not be able to order it anymore... Yes, it won't buy you a house, but if you bought it at the right price at least you will not lose anything on this one. Who knows, if we keep it long enough, where they may go....

@@TOKKANTE It was from a private seller, not sure how many AD’s will still have one in stock, would assume no one! The FOIS was not a special limited edition, but compared to the normal 1861 Moonwatch which probably was produced as many in just one year as the FOIS in 8 years I think the demand will continue to stay high. Many people claim they never even think about the resale value, but unless you are stupidly rich or just stupid! I think an overwhelmingly majority does even if they say they don’t.

Hi Ben, what is your wrist size please ? How do you find length of strap ?

My wrist is 6.75" or 17cm. I have NEVER worn the FOIS on the Omega strap (except for the video) because 1/ I am a bracelet guy so I put it on the Forstner Flat Link (see my other video), and 2/ Omega straps are not that great and this one is no exception. It does feel a little short though if you're got a 7"+ wrist size.

Any idea how many of these were made in total ? I’ve read 15000 but I saw one recently and it was numbered 16*** ? I know they are discontinued in December last .

I have an FOIS and was wondering if you know if the Ed White bracelet will fit my watch?

No it will not fit because of different case construction, lug holes etc. Some people on forums have shared that they ordered the Ed White bracelet and they did not fit in the end. Same problem with the 1957 Trilogy or the 50th anniversary, none of them fit the FOIS.

@@TOKKANTE Well I got a 1966 Ed White, and bought the 1450 Forstner bracelet which is meant for the FOIS, and this bracelet also fit my original Ed White just fine.

@@truxton1000 Oh yes, in this case it's opposite, you fit the Forstner to the vintage Ed White and someone else told me they were able to do that. But the new Ed White bracelet does not fit the FOIS.

@@TOKKANTE The new Ed White bracelet fits the FOIS perfectly if you use the end links from the Forstner flat link bracelet. You can buy just the end links from Forstner.

Any authorized Forstner retailers in Europe? I can't find someone to sell some nice steel bracelets

I do not think they have any authorized retailers yet, you have to order directly from their website. No issues with my order, it just took a bit longer than usual because of COVID back in January but everything was in order and they even included 2 little screwdrivers.

I’ve never seen anyone’s eyes vibrate like yours. Darting left and right faster than anything I’ve seen. Creepy

80%? Hmm.. different movement, case, dial, bezel, logo, font, hand set, bracelet? What’s the same?

Well, except the movement, all other aspects taken individually are indeed slightly different but remain largely similar, hence the 80%. Yes, there are a bunch of little things that are different, but overall the piece retain much of its original "spirit." But of course I agree that this would never satisfy vintage Speedmaster purists.

Similar does not mean 100% the same... This is the closest you can get so not bad overall.
