    Thank-you Enigma Vapes! Always a pleasure, and yes mostly I try and do workarounds live on location, but the applied mask was a frame I added in later. Still searching for a solution to visualize masks like this during a live tether, would be helpful as I do a lot of trickery like this! Take care, friend.

    Hi Dustin! Great video! Just have one question for you! You took that photo with the third flash aimed at the background to get a silhouette of the products. In post production how do you use that picture as a mask, is there any way to convert the picture to be a mask? I am guessing you used that picture to create the background perfectly. It would be nice to see how you did it! Thank you for your answer! Keep up the good work! Cheers!

    Hi! Yes, I simply create a high contrast frame. Then select the contents of the product (in that frame) with a selection tool like magic wand. Cheers

    Hey Justin, I love these videos, and trying to replicate these shots. You've mentioned in a few videos creating a high contrast frame (Boomified!) to eventually use as a mask to cutout the product from the background. But I can't find where you explain that exact process. How do you take a frame of black and white pixels that is a layer in photoshop, and turn that into a mask? Thanks!

  • @workphlo

    @workphlo

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Bart, in our Photographing Wine w/ Plexiglass episode we teach the mask method. Usually you just crank the contrast maximum in RAW until the product is truly black and the bg truly white. Then you can even just import that frame and magic wand "select" the shape of the item. And it's Dustin* :)

    Nige T Hey there, the green bg was a digital solid, a hue eyedropped from the products. I'll try and do a more in depth workphlo for masks, all I did here was use the mask I showed to exempt the bottle from the solid bg. A lot of tutorials exist for how to use masks, my Wine on Clear Plexiglass may be of assistance. Cheers!
