Speeder Ride on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad in Humboldt

I recently got the pleasure to ride on one of the last THA crew speeder rides for this season on the historic Northwestern Pacific Railroad along the Humboldt Bay on September 24th, 2022. "The Arcata and Mad River Railroad Crew Speeder car is a restored maintenance of way vehicle that traveled along the railways in Korbel." It was a fantastic ~half an hour both ways trip that only cost $8, which also goes to a great cause. I would highly recommend taking opportunity to experience this piece of living history if you get the chance, they also have a fantastic Timber Heritage Museum at Samoa with a impressive collection of trains and cars from the historic Northwestern Pacific Railroad here in Humboldt County.
Please, please check out their website for more information: timberheritage.org/ride-the-r... or even donate to help these guys on their mission to restore the rails around Humboldt Bay for a future excursion train here: www.paypal.com/paypalme/timbe...

Funny they are called speeders but not going very fast. How many people crammed on that speeder? sounds like a crowd?

They are called speeders because they are faster than starting a steam engine. I don't remember how many people were on exactly but if I had to guess I would say around two dozen people, in two speeders and one rail truck(idk what the right term is) .
