    You’re a great salesperson with your enthusiasm! They should GIVE you the foot pedal just for that because you have convinced me not to settle for the cheaper wheel. Also, thanks for the tip on protecting the top of your piece 👍🏽!

    I have own a Speedball Artista wheel for 7 years and have thrown a little over 3 tons of clay on it. I have added other pottery equipment but have not upgraded the wheel. Suggest adding the foot pedal but add a stop block to the front of it to set the rotation speed to 1.5 per second. The foot pedal is useful for hands free adjustment of the speed and stopping the wheel.

    @@lowco_ceramics Simon Leach added a handle to his Artista instead of the foot pedal. Waiting until you need it is good. Making pottery is expensive enough without buying equipment you do not need or seldom use.

    How do you feel about standing up rather than sitting?

    I personally prefer standing. Easier on my back
