    Hi Rino! The disabling inactive widgets is a very nice feature. My method: 1. create a page with your favorite widgets. just drop them under each other without settings 2. export as a template 3. import on a new website 4. turn off unused widgets 5 delete the imported page. ;)

    Nice information... As for widgets/elements, i use a plug-in called "which elementor addon". It helps identify which widget from which elementor plugin has been used on a page, by hovering mouse on it

    I had to use the video playlist last week. The client wanted all his KZread videos in a one page site. It's not that bad but I don't think I'll ever need to use it again. 😅

    They say its already on, that unused widgets do not load if not used. But the Js and Css is still loaded on pages, for example swiper and other stuff. Even Jet Js and CSS is loaded on pages that isn't using specific widgets.

    You should be able to turn them on and off from the actual builder. It would be nice if you could see them even if they are turned off. They should be grey so that you are your clients know what is there if you wanna turn it on. Shoudln't be that hard to implement this feature. I'd imagine that you'd have to reload the page builder to update changes and that is probably why they chose to just put everyting in the settings menus. It's a shame though that they are so hidden when turned off. It makes me not wanna turn them off....

    If it ain’t funny it would be tragic! Elementor is driven by jQuery and JS vanilla mix. A pure horror. Moreover, it is a plugin, not a theme, it takes a different route in WP and then ends up being a quasi theme. More features make it even slower. Complex layouts take up to a gig of RAM in browser which is unbelievable. Ele is perfect for a small/mini/basic website. The simpler, the better. Anything bigger require a serious tool such as Bricks Builder or Divi.

    Just an observation, if anyone hasn't made here before: Improved CSS Loading might cause issues and is often recommended to be deactivated when troubleshooting some of them. Turns out disabling it was the solution for some of the issues I've run through, specially with the Elementor's Mega Menu Widget (considering I haven't tested it again since Eleementor's version 3.16, so can't tell how it is performing now and I won't risk testing it again in a while). P.S.: Keep up the good work, Rino! Cheers!

  • @phkoon

    @@rinodeboer The only one I can precisely point out is the Mega Menu breaking, it happened when version 3.16 was installed, and it just woudn't show any of the Mega Menu's nested content nor keep its formatting at all. Tried regenerating the CSS files (WP admin > Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS) before disabling the "Improved CSS Loading" and it still didn't work; rolled back to last version before the 3.16 and all came back to normal; got to version 3.16 again and it broke once more. Then I searched Google for solutions and found a bunch of similar issues where the recommendation was to disable the "Improved CSS Loading", and after disabling it, and regenerating the files again... voilà, working like a charm until now. Part of other issues I've run through were some custom codes that weren't working, and started working again after disabling this feature.

    @@rinodeboer Hey, Rino, could you tell me superficially how do you charge your clients for your service, regarding hosting and maintenace? Just got a new client and decided to go with Hostinger. What I'd like to know is: when passing it up to your client, all you do about hosting is including your referral code and managing their hosting through PRO Panel and that's all your comission, or do you charge separately for hosting alongside with maintenance fee or something like that? It's pretty much my first client for webdesign and I'm a bit lost on how to handle these long term costs, amidst so many ways of charging. I know it might be an invasive question to ask, so feel free to avoid it; anyways, I thank you in advance

    I am still working on my new monthly packages since I am going to start client work soon. But I am thinking about making 3 different packages so that clients can choose. For example $25, $50, $100 package. Where you get more services which each package. But if you are starting out then I would just recommend to start with something, you can always adjust later for new clients. But I personally wouldn't go lower than $10 a month per client, since you have to cover a few software licenses.

    Hey Rino, about site speed, I'm wondering what is the best practice with images : should I compress them before adding them in the media library? or is it okay to upload images that are often several mbytes and then use a smaller resolution in the elementor option of the image?

  • @rinodeboer

    @rinodeboer

    7 ай бұрын

    It is highly recommended to compress & resize them before uploading them. So that you don’t even have to rely on the Wordpress image option feature. You can still use it, but if you already know the size you need then you can achieve much better results to compress outside of WP and then just upload what you need.

    It's a nice feature to cheat and get elementor to get less bloated.. but the changes needs to come from the core of elementor, remake everything to make a real change. I'm planning of migrating to breakdance builder it's waaaaay faster and the UI is funny and easy to work with.
