So glad to see Redfall in 1. it truly showed peak game design, the game was red and you constantly fell into the floor. Game of the Year.

Seeing downpour so high was a really nice surprise To this day, even though it's been a year since I've beaten it (the base game), whenever I happen to for some reason play for even just a bit, it feels... different

@@FrostPlayz It’s a phenomenally atmospheric game! Dave the Diver is also amazing though, definitely need to try that so I can have officially played all fish-related games nominated for best indie in 2023.

After I was introduced to Rain World by Foekoe, my life has had a significant drop in quality. This is probably the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Has nothing to do with the game 10/10 I love this stupid game with stupid critters! Thanks Foedoe the deer!

Hi-Fi Rush is absolutely amazing, not only because it innovates by uniting two different concepts of gameplay and executing it perfectly in every way, but because of what it represents on the gaming industry. It's a $30 dollar game that came out of nowhere, no hype, no marketing, the same moment it was announced was the same moment it released, and it came out polished, complete, the only DLC they put out it's only skins while the rest is unlockable by playing the game, and it's actually the best console exclusive of this generation so far. No bullshit, just a pure fun game made with a lot of charm and passion, very fun characters and (obviously) awesome music. I REALLY hope Microsoft and Bethesda goes that way instead of going through the path of Redfall.

Hi-Fi Rush was amazing. The problem is monetization. Tell me, does a $30 complete singleplayer game with no paid DLC sound sustainable? Now, what about a $(I forgot but I assume 60) buggy mess of a multiplayer game that can be milked for microtransactions and battle passes that also requires an online subscription to play on the console? If I were a greedy corporate asshole, I know what I'd pick. Unfortunate, how the world has turned out.

except for the first five and last few, i really didn't know about a lot of the games on this list. and i actually checked a bunch of those out and quite enjoyed a lot of them. great vid!

I played the re4 remake in vr and it was amazing especially the krousser fight. Being able to block his attacks in a knife fight was amazing

I highly recommend checking out Laika: Aged Through Blood its a metroidvania with a sad yet beautiful story. Also, the music is done by the same person who did Friends vs Friends.

Solar Ash is also a cool adventure/platformer game that came out this year (it's on game pass in case you got it). Short, pretty, kinda interesting story wise, and fun to explore.

fun fact: Devs of redfall didn't want to make the game and wanted for it to be canceled

completed base and i guess post game bleak sword on apple arcade, by figuring out in the late game that as long as the light attack is meant to hit something you become invincible to the something during the attack (and maybe everything idk, it was just funny to interrupt the beyblade skeletons and cheese bosses). I am not, however, gonna try to beat the arena or even hard difficulties for achievements, my character died enough :(

Might I recommend Fall of Porcupine? It is a fun 2D story game that came out last year that is heavily inspired by Night in The Woods. The art style is lovely, the soundtrack is a banger, the characters are fun and unique, and the game is overall a fun short journey into the world of what medical workers have to go through!

Imo if you had played/finished dave the diver it would be around top 10 it is similar to terra nil in it's sense of just playing the game to relax or just for a little light hearted fun

I know its quite silly to suggest games when there's hundreds of comments, but you need to try Crab Champions. It's a roguelike movement shooter like Roboquest, but has a bigger emphasis on combining perks. I had a lot of fun going for 100%, and once you're done you can still enjoy it's replayability. The coolest part is that it was made by Noisestorm, the guy beind crab rave.

Instead of saying, "You didn't play Lethal Company." I'm just going to say you didn't play Touhou Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost and really the whole series.

I really recommend Lil Gator Game! It's a short, charming and fun adventure, with a pretty sweet and (for me) emotional narrative. Very underrated!
