No problem at all! There'll be a few bits on your models that won't be shown on here, but leave a comment and explain how I paint it.
This is almost my exact method for painting my Space Wolves. The only difference is that I use Space Wolf Grey Contrast mixed with Contrast Medium in a 50/50 mixture to shade the model instead of Agra Earthshade. Very nice results too.

It's a really simple one! Very quick for the quality of outcome you get.
This is *actually* a 30 minute job (outside of maybe that freehand, which would take some time and doing). As opposed to other speed paint marines, which are "yeah...it might take 4 hours to speed paint this, but that's still 10x faster than I usually do it!"
@criticalhitwargaming5290
2 жыл бұрын
It most certainly is! You're right in that the first 2-3 times you do the freehand you'll be a little slower (fixing mistakes etc) but once you get the hand of it it takes literally 3 minutes to do. My issue doing it on the video was trying to look at the camera view screen and the model at the same time to make sure everyone could see what I was doing :D

It's very quick mate! Especially once you've done a few. Paint them in batches of 5, it's slightly more bearable then. You should be able to paint 5 in a solid evening's painting, or over a couple of nights. Let me know how you get on!
I have been watching 6-7 vids so far trying to pick the best one to start my painting journey... I was convinced the slap-chop method was going to be what I want... but then I stumbled on this vid. This (IMO) looks a bit like the slap-chop (dry brushing and contrast paints only?) but nicely blended with some bright full-colour paints as well. The result is exactly what I am looking for - simple (not tried it yet, so maybe not that simple!) - but sooooo effective and great looking : )))

@@danielgeorges3048 Hey dude! Yes it does work for vehicles, the only difference is that instead of putting Agrax Earthshade all over the model, you just paint it into the recesses and gaps, also putting a little blob on each rivet. It's quite time consuming, but when it's done it looks really good. Give it a drybrush of Fenrisian Grey afterwards with a large drybrush and it'll look awesome. Spraying it Wolf Grey first saves you a lot of time!

@@georgemc6441 Sorry George I was looking at totally the wrong video on KZread yet replying to your comment. For these Space Wolves you just need to buy a can of Wolf Grey Primer from Army Painter. You don't need to do anything beforehand, just build the model, and then spray it with Wolf Grey. That's it! Make sure you give the can a good shake. Spray the models in nice sweeping short bursts and let it dry a bit before you spray the same area again. That's how to get best results with these sprays.
I would like to know how to use Army Painter Primer in such a way that doesn't make my models chunky and ruin them. I've had no issues with other primers in the past but AP's primers every single time its a mess
@criticalhitwargaming5290
3 жыл бұрын
That's what I'd heard too, to be fair. I was a bit hesitant at first, but the thought of manually painting Russ Grey over a Mechanicus Grey primer made me want to adopt the foetal position and cry. So I bought some to try it. I shook the living s*** out of the can, and made sure to use short bursts from 30cm away. Gradually built up the layers and there were no issues at all, much to my relief. Went on really nicely. Ironically the last primer that nearly ruined a model for me was a GW Macragge Blue. I bought a second AP Primer - Skeleton Bone. Same deal with that, went on really nicely. Perhaps they've sorted them out once and for all! It could also be that they're particularly sensitive to the weather where you are.
@TheFrokka
2 жыл бұрын
I use a bucket of hot water to heat the can for a few minutes, this will thin the paint. Spray some and then re-heat the can again. This way you can also spray outdoors even if temperature is somewhat below the recommended limit of 10°C.
The pack markings portion... I look over at mine and see I painted that shoulder pad red.... Ugh

You have to apply 2-3 thin coats of it. It's really annoying, unfortunately. Put some on a paint pallet and mix in a little bit of water, then paint an even coat across the shoulder. It will come out streaky. Wait for it to dry, and then add a second layer. Rinse and repeat until its a solid colour. Sometimes you get the perfect consistency and it will go on in one and a half coats, like the video. Alternatively, Army Painter Fanatics paints are coming out soon with really high pigment content, try one of their yellows.
