This list is great, but... I would change one thing. My mom always told me to set the clothes to wash first, because the machine does all the work. Then, when done with everything else on the list, put the clothes to dry! Thank you for your energy and sweet, caring personality! Blessings!

No judgement at all. She is out and about on her own so getting her a phone so she can check in with you is absolutely the right thing to do. You are being a responsible parent by allowing her independence but also giving her the ability to contact you in an instant if she needs you. Don't worry about being judged, you know what is right for your child. I absolutely love your videos by the way and your bubbly, cheery personality really brightens my day and motivates me to get organised. Xxx

ClutterBug I do, and unfortunately yeah, the 30 minutes would be just the dishes. But it’s entirely possible to do the whole house in an hour, for me. And if it was every day and everything was already clean, it could be possible to get it down to 30!

Minomushi you aren't the only one who is going through this. Me too. today I got nothing done but sleep. I think the Dirty 30 might just be manageable. even if I have to do it in 5 mins bursts. According to a friend who has had the experience the trick is not to overwhelm yourself and if you feel the overwhelm stop, take a break, and on with the next 5 mins.

Minomushi - when I felt that way in the past I'd lie in bed and tell myself just pick up two things next time you go to the bathroom. When I did that I'd usually pick up maybe five things. Make it small and manageable :)

Hi there have you ever heard of the FlyLady method? I heard of it sometime last year but never really followed it from other videos I watched, but I recently came across a channel FlyLady Diane and it has honesty helped so much, have a look at her 30 day playlist it's small steps to getting back on track, she really explains it well and there is the flylady website too. The konmmari method is great as well you can listen to the audio book on KZread I loved listening to it as I would clean, it really sparked the motivation ✨🤗 I hope this finds you well, wish you all the best on your journey 🌻🌻🌻

The tidy tote with baskets inside is GENIUS!! Good idea, Cas! And no judging at all with the phone. My 13 year old son has Aspergers. He used to melt down at school. A cell phone ( my old one, not a new one)was the answer! Now when he's frustrated he can text me and we "talk" thru it. It has helped him so much! Nothing wrong with giving your kiddo the ability to keep in touch with you!

Don't feel bad - you pay for insurance, and they're doing what insurance is meant to do! Also, a pay as you go phone with no data, that you monitor, is not even in the same galaxy as giving your kid an iPhone with all the bells and whistles. Don't feel bad!

Interesting to watch and actually *cleaning* something vs wiping down what appears to be a model home 😆. I watch a few nearly everyday and my house looks decent and tidy most of the time. You sound like a darn good mom to me! When I was about 7ish. I begged to walk from school to brownies. Just around the corner. My grandmother finally said ok. Well....I got lost and scarred and just stood on the street crying. My grandmother had followed me in the car without me knowing. I was so glad that she was spying on me that day. Your mom instincts are spot on!!!! Oh, and I love the speed cleaning part too! lol Your awesome to watch please keep doing your awesomeness.

Ah no judgement here! We got my 9 year old a LG GizmoGadget watch. It has voice calling and pre set text to choose from, gps tracking (my favorite feature!) plus it's an activity tracker and best of all it's attached to his wrist so it won't get lost! It's only $5 a month with our cell phone provider! This mama needed some peace of mind with her big kid being independent

I wanted to thank you for your channel. About two years ago it occurred to me that I was never really taught how to clean and organize. We are a homeschool family and I really wanted to teach my kids how to organize so they wouldn't feel as overwhelmed as I did as a kid when my mom would ask me to clean my room (aka pile of junk). I'm not ashamed to say that I didn't know because slowly my house is becoming lighter and easier to clean. And my four-year-old has told me that cleaning her room is easy which is totally worth all the learning I've been doing!! This 30 min clean is brilliant! Keep up the good work, you are really helping people!

I just happened upon your video and LOVE IT!!! I speed clean the same way, with a tote even!!! I still grabbed some awesome tips from you so thank you!!! As for the cell, I got my first born one for a similar reason. He was about 11/12 and didn’t come out to my car after school! The principal and other school employees were calling over walkie talkies and my kid is sort of quiet and straight laced so I imagined him beat up in the bathroom by some 8th Grader ... panic, I was in tears. The principal asked, “does he have a phone you can text on?” And I cried harder yelling, “no because I was TRYING to be the parent that didn’t do that!”. As it turns out, he decided to complete an assignment in one of his classes and not mention it to his worried mom. I got him a cell the next day. No judgements here.

No judging from me! My son - who is now 21 - has a cell phone at either 10 or 11 yrs old because I was a working mom & he went home with friends after school a few days a week so I wanted to be able to reach him & for him to be able reach me no matter where he was. It was a lifesaver. At the time the plan we had allowed him to call my cell phone without using any minutes (since it was on the same plan) which was great. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It wasn't until he was 16 & older when he started ignoring me when I called that we started having issues but that's a whole other story =0). I love the tidy tote & have sections for each room is a fantastic idea! Thank you!

I think a really basic phone is good for a young tween. When I was almost 12-13 my mom gave me a small flipphone because it was already on her plan. Super basic and useful for when I was with friends or at school and needed a ride. But kids having like full out iPhones with internet access and all that... probably a bad idea and I hate seeing that! And I'm barely in my twenties lol.

remainingembers I wonder if this is a cultural thing? I'm from Finland (Nokia country) and kids get cell phones very young. My younger one got hers at 6 or 7 years old and my older one who is now 12 got an iPhone with Internet several years ago. I think it would be unnormal if they didn't have phones very young.

ClutterBug talk about distracted! If nothing else, I was motivated. 💪🏾I ended up getting out of bed and cleaning the bathroom last night. Then this morning I started with what was supposed to be a quick sweep up and mopping of the floors and ended up sanding my back door. 😣 There's dust everywhere! But it's a necessary evil. I'm living through a reno and have a bunch of projects I've been avoiding because of the mess they create. On the bright side, I'm motivated. 🤗 Your videos are so inspiring. What a lovely bubbly personality you have. You are NOT a bad Mom, you are NOT a crazy Mom! If I had children, I too would have bought them cell phones when the wanderlust bug bit them. It was the sensible and practical thing to do in my opinion. You can never be too careful with kids these days; so much could happen. You will still worry about them, but at least now you have some peace of mind.

I was such a mess today! I went to get a pedicure just to have uninterrupted time to read your book. It was time to leave and my brain was in the mode of thinking about cleaning and didn't catch up with my body that needed to get out of the chair. I was so graceful as the phone fell and than my purse goes all over and last .....the book lands on the freshly painted toes! Mom didn't call me grace for a reason🙃 my new book already looks well loved, covered in pink with bent pages😂😂😂🤣🤣

This is the first video of yours I've seen and firstly I absolutely love you. You're so fun and smiley and made me chuckle several times, but most importantly these tips are brilliant. Me and my boyfriend just bought our first house, and not only is it much, much bigger than the one bedroom flat I used to rent, but I'm just about to return to work after 3 years on disability benefits due to chronic health conditions and I've been really worried about how I'm going to keep on top of cleaning our lovely home when I'm working, with the additional time and energy constraints imposed by my health, but I'm sure if I use your videos and tips as a basis it'll be manageable for me. I'll report back about how I'm getting on later in the year

Got my 10 (almost 11) year old son a track phone for that same reason - he was riding his bike to swim practice every week day in the summer with friends and I wanted him to be able to call someone if he had a problem. And that was 10 years ago when most kids that age didn't have a phone. Do what makes you comfortable and don't worry what others think. Being a parent myself made me realize that I should not be quick to judge others.

I agree witch your decision to get Izzy a phone, as a parent you have to figure out what works best for you and your family. I wanted to comment on the phone thing. My son is 11 and I have often felt the same way about wanting him to be able to call me if something happens. Hi Cas, no judgement at all. My son is 11 and starts high school in September. This year he wanted to walk to school with his friends and though it is only 1 mile away there are 9 busy roads to cross. He has a phone to call me to check in and ask can he play at his friends. perfectly normal. Good tip too, he sets his alarm on his phone so if I say be home for 5pm the alarm is on for 4.50/4.55 to give him enough time to walk/ride back from his friends :) no where is he panic needed :)

Clutterbug one suggestion you can do for clutter if you have three or four people in the home, you can have a tote for every person and put their things in their tote and they pick it up when they walk in from school or sit it next to their room and they put it away. But I like your bedroom decor.

My daughter has an iphone. But its my old iphone. I didn't want to have to buy her another phone when we had a perfectly good phone that we could hook up for her. LOL. Yes, it does have data on it that she shares on our family plan, but it also has parental controls and she can't get any games or anything on it or even google anything that isn't age appropriate for the settings we have on it. I do check it randomly to make sure she's using it properly. Almost all her friend's have their parent's old phones, therefore they end up with smart phones. I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as they are responsible enough to have one.

I grew up in Oshawa and we used to have the rule that we had to be home when the street lights came on. Pay as you go - no data and makes calls/texts only - phone. We'd leave in the morning, pack a lunch and some days we'd be RUNNING to get home as the street lights were coming on LOL. I think the cheapy phone was a great idea and I wouldn't be giving her my own expensive phone either! Alphanumeric pagers (the kind with the keyboard on the side like a mini blackberry) are so out of date. I don't know if they even "do" those anymore so a cheap phone is a great replacement for that. So happy to hear that Milo is feeling better and as for Abby - I recommend knee pads and wrist guards as a minimum to go with the helmet. People laughed that I was "geared up" but I never had to worry about injuries (and I was - for sure - more accident prone than anyone you know LOL). Heather xo

I live in Scotland and my kids go to school and back on their own and they want their own independence, so they have their own phones - best of both worlds. Ok my oldest is 13, my youngest is nearly 8. Don't know about the education system over there but in Scotland they learn how to work technology from a very young age and learn different methods. So no judgment here, you done what was best for u and ur family xx

Laura Scrimgeour the reality is the world is becomimg more and more tech-dominant. I think there's a slight hanging on to old ways thing about parents not want kids to have the gadgets etc. I think it's reasonable for kids to have a phone if not for your own peace of mind. I have seen some people say in this comment section that it is bad parenting to give a child under 15 y.o a phone! What I think is bad parenting is to not give them a phone because you don't want to have to teach them how to be responsible with it or because secretly you don't know how?!
