I'm guessing this review was made before the BP details were released since it's known now that the S43 is arguably the easiest F2P event premium to earn in the game's history.

@@DJS-mx8oz ranked/brawls exist and are often at T7. Great ship for free. A lot of veteran player prefer mid tiers rather than the snipe fest that is t10. I have every tech tree t10 and often find myself playing t7/8 when not grinding a line.

You must be a BB player. If I had to guess, usually the one that's found on the side of the map solo and using "sniping" as an excuse for poor team play let along "fun" at mid tiers aka useless most matches but blames everyone else. T10 is literally just sit in spawn and mouse click shots off.@@DJS-mx8oz

I've always found the Scharny to be powerful, though it's not as popular as it used to be. It certainly punches above its weight class (or tier) because of it's armor and torps. This looks like a good modification of the original.

The Scharnhorst was my first T7 and T7 premium. I still play it and have a soft spot for it. I will definitely be picking this up!

Scharnhorst 43 could be a good Tier 7 Ranked ship. If it does this well against Tier 8 than tier 7 should be crazy.

Single handledly sunk the dd, bullied the sub and brawled against 2 BBs... AND LIVED! The ship can only do so much, can we appreciate that skill? Wow

First time I ran the OG Scharnhorst was as a rental. The first battle in it was much like the one in your battle at C taking out the NC and Amagi. So much fun, sold me on that ship's potential. Looking forward to taking the 43 version through its paces.

So instead of updating the Scharnhorst to be less power crept, they just make a new version, same tier??? That's silly. I still love that boat

It’s kind of around the same power level tbh, more of a side grade than anything else. You lose out on main gun dpm but you gain secondaries dpm and a spd boost. You’d be surprised how much 3s reload matters

I love the Sharny, and I'm addicted to secondary builds, which is a problem as I speed through secondary flags as wargaming speeds through ship releases instead of reworking plane spotting.

Looks like I’m gonna have fun with this together with my boi Lütjens in Ops.

I got the Scharnhorst over 5 years ago from a Santa container for free so it will be nice to get the new one for free too! I don't use the original much anymore but I am glad others will get something similar.

How the heck did you not get the kill on that sub earlier. You landed a torp and like 4 depth charges, and set like 4 floods.

Hope the torpedo launchers are a bit more durable. On my Scharnhorst the launchers go with the first incoming salvo. Reload becomes irrelevant. The sub-caliber AP is not great. But it is better than one expects.

useful tip: there is a key (idk the default keybind) to lock your armament, which you can use to keep main guns locked at a ship or angle while using ASW

Currently playing secondary gneis for ranked. But this is a fast ship with good secondaries and good toro’s so I think this could be a good ranked pick

I've had Scharnhorst for quite a few years now, & she's great fun depending on match-making, awesome in Narai operation & this new version should be even more fun, & also for those often ignored Operations (which are good to acquire 10 point captains through if you don't have any) With speed boost alone, you're looking at 34 knots? Add a speed flag & Brisk, & 39 or so? That's FAST.!

Cool, wondered what SCH 43 will be like. Well I am going to be loving that ship :~0 muwahahaha

just got the Scharnhorst '43 in Santas City I like the free ships I already have the Scharnhorst B so I will be comparing them.

So question. I just got into WoW this christmas and had enough time to make it to tier 10 and claim the ship. I should include that ive played WoW on xbox (not really the same) and ive got basic game knowledge for the most part. Though the one crucial thing im missing is that commander, since im fresh in, and i wanted to know what you would go with for a commander setup on the stock commander you get. Ive gotten the 4 base perks of a secondary setup so far, but im not sure where to go from here.

When I got Brandenburg, I sold Scharnhorst and Tirpitz. But than now Xmas gives me this Scharnhorst43 with speed boost, I love it.

Never sell your premiums. Keep em, cause even if you didnt like these ships there is a high probability, that you will get em back from containers.

Roma guns have weird characteristics that if ships are angle it gives full pins

Good have very few to no brawlers at lower tiers (5,6,7)

I do not know why the secondaries of Scharnhorst '43 have less hitting-dpm (40'849) than the secondaries of the regular Scharnhorst (41'048). So the '43-Variant has secondaries with lower reload-time, but nervertheless a more bad hitting-dpm than the regular one. How can that be? Has it less accuracy? I have the values about ship-stats from shiptool point ft . So i believe i will not set a secondary-build on this ship. But *thumbs up.*

@@Choukai_Chan Scharnhorst has the same dispersion ellipse as American battleships. How it keeps consistently getting terrible shots with that on top of 2.0 sigma is still a mystery to me.

If only WG buffed Scharnhorst AP from 7600 to 8400.(It makes non sesne for me that Graf Spee has a 8400 dmg AP when it has the same caliber guns as Scharnhorst)

Scharn is my most played ship by far, so I'll gladly take another one for free.

I dont know how you do it, but literally every showcase ive watched you get a kraken. Nuts man. Those arnt easy to get and you are getting them like its throwing popcorn in your mouth. I dont think ive seen you play one bad game lol

Whats the grind for it and until when? So I know if I should open the game, haven't played in a while.

Supposedly a few battles a day for a week will earn you the Shinyhorse. I understand it’s all base XP related so there’s no goofy missions or playing modes you don’t like. This event is being universally praised. Not saying WG can’t still screw it up but it looks good so far. Also if you’ve been gone for several months use the starter code. You can get Emden, Repulse and a T5 ship container.

PQ is playing for the LOL's but I wouldn't follow his style in order to win. Taking on two T8 BB's in a squiswy T7 BB. Really? The BB's should have used their range against S43. I can only assume that they though it was just a standard Sch. And going after the ROMA at the end?. I would have made the ROMA come to me however he did know that he had a team mate as an insurance policy.. But it was great fun to watch, Good video.

In the stats I read 24k damage dealed to the submarine, full hp, maybe depth chargues were too far, just one direct hit

Did we all hear the same @4:11 statement for "not going so well"?

It only has speed boost and torpedo's. The hitting secondary DPM is better on the normal Scharnhorst

Yeah Gneisenau with improved secondaries and a speed boost would be crazy since it has better anti-air, secondary gun penetration and main gun overmatch. The dream ship.

I love my shiny horse but use accuracy instead of sec range on slot 3, it works super well for me. Bread and Butter still is main guns. looking forward to see a faster ship in action

Nah. This version has improved secondaries compared to the older version so it makes no sense to go for a main gun build. Also, if you intend to play around main guns, you should outright not be playing this type of ship in the first place.

I guess it's cool that we'll be getting this for free, especially for players who don't have the original, but it's lame that they didn't even bother to slap a unique skin on her.

Roma has bad accuracy but the AP hits like a dump truck so don't let your guard down near one.

would've been perfect if we could swap the fighter for Hydro

Since id never use a T7 Premium in randoms much and go with it for ranked and other same tier modes or asymetric id not pick IFHE. It just cuts the fire chance way too much for nothing in return. One thing thats a bit disappointing is that it has the same bad concealment as the original and Gneisenau. Makes zero sense that Bismarck and Tirpitz got much better concealment than them.

I find the original still stronger. So i sold the S43. The first one just hit harder from range, not enough secondary guns to be a true secondary brawler. The engine boost is nice though

the only way for someone not to get this ship is to not play at all for the next 5 weeks. WG is saying 1-3 games a day for 10 days and you can get it. i am guessing for most players you can get it a lot sooner.

WG makes me like idiot that bought a Scharnhorst for years but only play it few times…

Yep, Penetrating shells are kinda useless, and accuracy and fire chance doesn't imorove neither, but at least we got torpedoes, 2 depth chagues atacks, fighters, engine booster and some more stuff

I started in mid January. Feels like the worst timing...

Scharn is a fun ship, but I like Bismarck better.

Sharnhorst was really good and brawly ship Thoe as often is the case with 43 variants....they aren't the greatest and things had to made gimmicky

I'm a little disappointed the camo is the same as the original scharny

Picked up the ship over the weekend. The speed boost is nice, but beyond that the changes don't feel significant enough to justify the ship's existence. I would have been more enthusiastic about a North Cape event that gave players the chance to earn OG Scharnhorst, Duke of York, OR Stord '43. Plus a ship that isn't in the game yet, like HMS Norfolk, which as a later County-class could be an improved Devonshire at T7.

Tf i just saw with this 2 bb's on C XDDD
