yes, you're right... she isn't fast enough to give herself an extra turn. the only difference of a 178 SPD and 150 SPD firefly is how fast her next turn comes. if you noticed during wave 1, your 150 SPD firefly's 3rd enhanced skill is actually going to be at the start of the 2nd cycle while if you're on 154 SPD and higher, that turn would actually fit right before the end of the 1st cycle. so while people only recommend you to be 150 SPD at the very minimum (if you have ruan mei) its actually more beneficial if you aim for 154 SPD just because you can at least use your supports' second turns as a way to gather SP and energy for the next wave while firefly will handle the kill at the very end of the 1st cycle. also if you're wondering what's the next speed breakpoint for firefly to gain an extra turn, with 150 SPD, firefly is able to do 3 enhanced skills during ULT and her next breakpoint is @ 220 SPD (or 280 if in her ULT) its super high and honestly not even worth it just to give you 4 enhanced skills during ULT (these are all excluding the ULT's advance forward btw) after that its 350 SPD (while in her ULT) which is just impossible right now. so the 150 SPD is actually her best speed to break effect ratio and if you even want to give firefly more turns, you can literally just add a bronya instead of giving her a lot of SPD.

Man I have 158 be with 155 spd . I don't have mei so running asta. I will decrease my speed and increase be. Farming for days. Everything goes into def percent, cursed asf.

i personally wouldnt lower that speed as much tbh. lowering your speed too much to have higher break effect means you're more likely to be under certain speed breakpoints which makes you lose out on a potential enhanced skill. as it is, your 155 SPD firefly is already starting her turn @ 64.52 AV meaning during ULT you need to have a minimum SPD of 234 to even have a chance at doing 3 enhanced skills during the first cycle or just 210 SPD if you dont care about cycles and just want to have the maximum value of your ULT. The speed requirements are a bit lower with an Asta though but i do want to emphasize on "a bit" since a 200 SPD character and a 250 SPD character only has a 10 AV difference and her ULT's countdown only has 142.86 AV. so you basically need to be at least 200 SPD (50 AV) without the speed buff from Asta while in her ULT state and have at least 1 of her 3 turns get buffed by Asta's ULT to even have enough for 3 enhanced skills before the combustion state ends. Thankfully, Firefly with the new planar set and just a speed boots actually has 140 SPD which is the very minimum you'd need to have for this setup to work.
