From a stunning 1956 campaign thru the 1967 Six Days War Israel honed its courageous tactics because the leaders had great courage, vision and motivation. With others, I watched this expertise eroded with the phasing in of technology. It was an issue discussed as it was happening. We saw that those with fewer such military talents but technological expertise were becoming the new leaders. The Agranat Commission after the POLITICAL debacle of the tragic Yom Kippur War refused to include performance evaluations of political leaders !!! Today Israel has a cast of leaders that has grown more dysfunctional inspite of glib tongued rhetoric. So we are stuck now in what will likely escalate into a major regional war with Israel’s frenemies, as always providing support to the enemy. Gideon’s victories came with fewer soldiers but he had a working relationship with Israel’s Only Leader of consequence. Before Israel is reduced to her knees a comprehensive adoption of not rabbinic but genuine biblical consciousness is an existential military imperative. Additionally Israel must demand that the UN members demand that Iran’s mullahs order Hamas to release all hostages unharmed. Let’s see who our civilized humane friends really are !! Amos Oz is wrong on so many fronts, and resorts to calling those whom he disagrees with vicious names. First, for Israel, surviving the Arab wars of annihilation IS winning. Oz seems to think this is a defeat because Israel did not achieve some "objective." The objective is survival. A real defeat is to be wiped off the map. Second, Oz argues that if certain other nations don't recognize Israel's rights to her land, Israel does not have those rights, and only his claims. Oz's absurd argument means Israel should not exist, and that her existence depends on the approval of antisemitic nations that want to wipe Israel off the map. Israel's rights to her land are eternal, and guaranteed by binding international law. Those rights do not depend on Arab approval or recognition. Third, Oz engages in demographic fear mongering. One state would still be 2/3 Jewish, not Arab. I could go on.

You didn't understand . Listen to his Hebrew lecture. He speaks about two state solution.

He even speaks about total separation from Israeli arabs. He is not for dual nationality Israel. Learn

Israel has to conquer our land speedily first shutting utilities and communication, curfews, total hermetic blackout. Destruction of Hizbollah is better immediately than later, with speed, total blitz to explode the entire area - no concern for so called collateral damage. If we are not violent swift and comprehensive we will pay a greater price. This is the sad truth of our situation.
